Sometimes people can’t be bothered with the hassle or don’t really want to sell, it’s a spur of the moment thing. Especially with old bikes that have sat in sheds for years or even decades. If someone buys it, then sort it

Yeah - tbh im not looking for another bike as such....that was purely a one off...3k - they normally go for 5 - 6k and a minter is 8+ That being said an old carb'ed monster would be nice so i could restomod it...for the last 10+ years im at the point now when i buy them......i keep them...period....no plans to sell any of my bikes unless money really became "not a problem"... Which it always is as im married with 3 kids...
Parts for those bikes are becoming harder to source from what I’ve read on the SVX FB page. You may have swerved a bullet?

Yeah - i always have to have something to repair/fix/build etc etc that being said i might need some more carb balancing help on the honda.....ive tried it a few times and i dont seem to have the "knack" that you have....i can get 3 inline sometimes....but then when i try to get the 4th one in i loose the lot!!

There are genuine reasons for not having a V5 (death of the owner and family cannot lay their hands on the documents) house fire etc. I bought a bike that had been abandoned in a house for 10 years and came with the house! I bought it off the new house owner and applied for the V5 from the DVLA and the DVLA write to the last registered keeper to get an update……which obviously was sent to the guys house that he had just bought. So no reply from last registered keeper the DVLA will issue a new V5 for £25! Obviously there are other reasons for not having a v5 but if everything else checks out it wouldn’t stop me!
I wonder why anyone would be selling a legit bike without a V5? For £25 all doubt could be removed, ask the seller to get a V5, check that all is in order, then buy the bike. Reimburse the £25 if necessary, how hard is that?
To resurrect this one ive come across another one, sent a deposit over, asked for the engine number and vin details and the engine number doesnt match up...he did say that its got the newer engine in it, which ive got no problem with, what i do have a problem with is the actual engine being an unknown quantity....so ive said, get the v5 changed over, register the new engine number and your address details...its apparently been in storage for 10 years so if hes not updated the engine number im guessing the address details arent either...what says you lot? Im pretty sure that if the v5 is updated (if its knocked off) a dodgy engine number then someone will get a knock at the door? and if it were me (and they took the bike) then hes not exactly gonna give me my money back...!
I hope everything works out fine it sounds like it probably will but just want to point out for general information really, most of the really cheap vehicle scams online are just for the deposit. The thinking is that's really cheap I best send a deposit before someone else buys it where as in reality the car/bike does not exist in the first place.
Yeah - its real...theres a video of him starting it up etc etc..he a forum admin on the site as well, so its genuine (in that its real) its just that (and this is my take) - if that motor is knocked off as soon as it hits a v5 an alarm will go off at the DVLA then the filth will be knocking on your door...am i right? Edit: so hes going to send of the V5 update the engine number and register it to his address. Id say im clear now?
Yes. However without wanting to put a fly in your ointment the rozzers won’t be straight round. A shortened version of my experience with dodgy engines. I bought a Toyota Hilux many years ago from a dealer. Turns out after a conversation with the Cambridge area Police that there are no engine numbers. Police weren’t interested but DVLA wanted the vehicle to be taken to a VOSA site so it could be inspected, something I didn’t ever do.
