Hi I need some help with purchasing kit to be able to charge my iPhone on my 2004 999 as a satnav. I have a very basic cheap quadlock clamp attached already for the phone and an optimate charging cable on the battery. No problem attaching a new cable if that is the best option. I favour eBay and have looked all over and found it very confusing. I have 2 bikes to sort out and want to keep it cheap Thanks for any help
I use a quad lock to charge my phone on my GasGas wirelessly. Bought the quad lock wireless charging case and mount, cheap it wasn’t but works faultlessly.
I use the Quadlock Dyson my bike but use the usb with a short lightning cable, worked on a recent trip
I need to know the best cheap solution to getting a USB female somewhere near to my phone so i can use my phone charging cable to connect between the 2. This is an old bike it doesn't have a USB port on it.
Mine doesn’t either mate,(it’s a panigale) bought the Quadlock usb for 20 odd quid straight to the battery and sits on top of the Quadlock mount.
My ebay quadlock mounts are £6.95 each or there abouts. So might not even take what you are using and at £28 + p&p its a bit overkill for my skinflint setups.
Cheap phone holder for an expensive phone? Or am I missing something, think I'd want the best phone holder..
Is this the QL copy but with the plastic arm instead of metal? I've got one I plan on using with a QL case and wondered how it worked out for you? The vibration damper which comes as part of the kit looks the same as QL but I didnt quite trust the sticky pad fixing you are supposed to stick on the back of your phone or phone case...
I have the same set up as you propose including the original QL case. I have this set up on the 999 and on a 1966 BSA A65 Lightning. I haven't done 1000s of miles but I am happy with the set up so far. I didn't receive a vibration damper. I just need to know about the power supply now. Hope someone can advise.
appealing again for help with this. I need to order a lead now that will work and am still none the wiser. Any help as to what I should order from eBay?

That kit will connect to the battery, and give various options for the power supply, it comes with the USB port, but, I believe some trickle charges use the same connector
My optimate doesn’t use those connectors , so I have ordered the kit and will connect direct to the battery. Hope it works
Does your optimate have the Tamiya type plug? If it does, this patch lead will work https://www.amazon.co.uk/OptiMate-1...362880618-B0022ZSBXY-&hvexpln=74&gad_source=1
Yes it has that style white plastic plug and I can see that I could have started with that converter. Oh well I have bought the other set up now and I don't suppose it will do any harm to have the original Optimate lead and the new phone charger lead running from the battery.
I think you misunderstood my last post, if you get the kit that you linked, from Ebay, hard wire it direct to the battery, you could then buy the lead that I linked from amazon, plug that to the hard wired bit, then your optimate would connect to it, to trickle charge your battery It would save having two hard wired connections to your battery, less wiring on your bike, which is always a good thing
