TBF, I can't say I blame them. One of the reasons I looked into that lifestyle was to get away from the suffocating surveillance of every day life. However, the Canal and River Trust and their finger-wagging traffic wardens of the waterways do a pretty good job of reminding you that the State is everywhere. I even read recently that the CRT are flying a kite re: the idea that all boats should be fitted with a GPS transponder so they can track everyone in real time.
One of the CRT got stabbed to death a few years back, I feel sorry for the proper boaters stuck in amongst the dog ends .
We take our cruiser down the ship canal to Sharpness a few times a year and there are more and more water pikeys there every time we go . You can spot them a mile off, it’s the ones with the weed plants growing in pots on the roof.
How about we keep things all shipshape, heave to and steer a course back to the original thread, me mateys?
We have no engine or steering so we’re just drifting about like a leaf on a Lake. A Cloverleaf just to steer back to the thread title.
How about a 1991 Alfa Romeo SZ - for sale at the moment for £80K Link with more photos & information https://classicmotorhub.com/alfa-romeo-sz-1991/
Tell me about it. Although I have sourced a replacement head, barrel and piston so might be on the road again in December
