Get yourself and friend to here, it is a fairly infamous place for cyclists. That frame and accessories look like they’ve been designed for comfort.
Where is that? 30%...Yikes! I got the bike for 'reasonable' money as it needed a fair bit of work, the owner was one of those that got the bike shop to do everything and had factored that cost into the eventual sale/haggled price, of course I was happy to play along... Derailleurs were all over the place, zero pressure on the rear brake, to name a few. Rear cassette was very worn, I had an unused 11sp 11-40 from a previous project, which slipped on real nice...I'm not too bad a climber these days, but it's nice to have it if needed! 32mm gators with hover style bars also help with the confort. I've had to make some changes to my pedalling activities this year, due to my cervical issues. This bike ought to keep me going a bit longer...
Hardknot Pass Lake District, the 30% is the average there are steeper sections but it also flattens out a little but not by much.
Yes, the event saves that and Wrynose for the end, it’s pretty much downhill from there. I believe they added an extra climb after Wrynose recently.
After a massive (for me) August, 497.6 miles, this month is going to be a challenge, last week I was motor biking in Europe, later in the month off with the wifey on a beach holiday. Managed 40 miles with friends yesterday and two spin bike sessions in the garage. Today I popped into Pronto bikes in Frome, just to see if there were any end of season sales, there wasn’t anything that tempted me enough to buy it. I’m really hankering after a new Aspero with SRAM 2 x electronic gear change. This looked nice as well.
Another 50 today, making the most of the weather. Check out the new bar tape....Skills... I suspect this is not a genuine shimano cleat....
Weather has been super shite down here. Saturday is looking ok, I predict every cyclist in the south will be out!
If you need a chuckle, the antics of these crazy younglings are worth a watch. The cycling, walking and river 'missions' are all pretty mental.
