S4r 2005 996 Stalling

  1. Hello does any one have any info why my s4r starts in neutral but as soon as you select any gear it cuts out ive bridged the stand switch wires but still cutting out any info is very grateful it was OK the day before but know playing

  3. I did think that but when I first had the bike the switch was hanging underneath the lever so it wasn't connected but still run so I'm confused to be honest thankyou for your reply

  5. I've took the switch off and bridged the wires loom side
     
  6. But if that's the only thing that's changed...
     
  7. No jez I've not changed nothing , this morning it started up I put side stand up put into gear and it stopped put back in neutral it started back up put into gear again and stopped so I disconnected the side stand switch and bridged the wires but made no difference

  8. Download a pdf version of the owners handbook. At the end is the wiring diagram. Both the clutch switch and side stand switch send a signal to the ECU. Check the continuity of the blue/violet wire of the clutch switch to pin 33 of the ECU body connector. Then check the continuity of the white/black wire of the side stand switch to pin 38 of the ECU body connector. The body connector is the one on the ECU where the heat sink is narrow when compared to the other end. Then check both black wires for continuity to earth.
