  5. Bike out again today as the forecast is shite for a while and the MT09 will be going to bed for a bit soon. Rode down to Northleach and called in the Classic motor Hub to see what the fuss is all about, some beautiful motors in there. The road was closed coming out but a workman waved me through because he wanted to talk about bikes so I had a chat with him for a few minutes :grinning:. Then on through Bibury which is always amusing, into lovely Wiltshire and ended up at Lacock then back home again. Only about 150 miles but still great to be out.

  7. I like the CMH, was there the other week, and they’re open Sundays all year round now, so a good place to head to in the car when the weathers shit.

  9. First time I’ve been but I keep hearing people mention it so I went for a nose. That mustang is lovely and so is the blue E type, a couple of nice Alfas as well. I’ll go in the cafe next time I’m there :joy:

  10. Finished work and a couple of quick jobs done before I jumped on a bike and popped up to see my dad for a cuppa. He's walking using only one crutch now and getting on great. Life's got in the way and not ridden the SL for a month but she fired straight up. Hoping for a longer nice ride over the weekend.

  12. Picked up my 1200s Multistrada after the Desmo service. Big thanks to Wayne of Gtec Performance in Leicestershire.

I’ve got an Akrapovic full system on it, which needed remapping, despite Akrapovic saying it doesn’t. Rather than Dynoing it, I had a Rapid Bike Evo fitted, which constantly adjusts the feuling :astonished::grinning:
    The difference!

Question is, was it the service and new plugs or the Rapid Bike Evo… or both?

It’s so much smoother, no apparent dips in the power delivery. I loved it when I put the Akrapovic on, it felt like a new bike, so too does this. I could feel the difference after riding 2 metres and apparently it really beds itself in after 100-200 miles. Or should I say smiles. I was shocked I could feel it so immediately.

I now keep thinking the engine felt agricultural before and now it seems so much more sophisticated.
Only downside is it’s not compatible with my Healtech quickshifter so that’ll be up for sale, which is a shame.

My previous mod was installing lower, narrower Monster bars. Another result, I get to lean forwards more, which is my preference.

This debate between keeping the 1200 or moving to a 1260 PP or a V4 PP is getting more and more confusing.

  13. I’ve put 4,500 miles on my V4 Pikes Peak so far this year and comparable to my first generation 1200S it is most definitely not. I have no regrets changing (yes I do really) as the change was necessary for me to continue to tour in Europe but the front end of the V4 is just not as precise nor is the bike as nimble. I found it a real handful in the Pyrenees loaded with luggage. Andy

  15. Recharged the aircon in the car I never use, only took a few minutes to do and it’s now ice cold again.

  17. I’ve calmed down on what I used to spend on clothes as I’ve got older but a proper winter coat is an essential bit of kit in my books and every 5 years or so I go big and apply man maths. This arrived earlier. CP Company, £1400 and I paid half that cos it’s “last seasons”. It’s beautiful and better made than any motorbike I’ve ever bought.
