Vickers On His Way

  1. Just seen Vickers is off end of the year, lost his ride with OMG. No surprise really given his all or nothing crash-fest riding style.

Hopefully he’ll mature somewhere else, or can’t see him boing around in the racing scene for long

  2. I heard he may be going to the WSB paddock in some way…..

  3. I laughed as it’s comical if he does.

  4. I can imagine if he’s lost his ride it will be because they can’t afford the crash damage, it’s a real shame tbh, but even just the cadwell crash, he literally totalled the bike, and they must be £75k

  5. I wonder how many other riders in history have been sacked after 9 wins and 16 podiums in just over a year and a half. Cant be that many.

  6. this is a good point, the issue with Ryan is he’s crashed so spectacular always when he didn’t need to! It’s one thing crashing when you are on the limit pace wise to fight for a win but he’s had a second a lap on people and then thrown it way.

his ride at brands was perfection, maybe he signed a deal somewhere after that weekend, maybe the likes of PBM? But since then he’s had some wobbles to say the least.

also, maybe Joe Talbot brings a big sponsor

  7. JT mentioned in the FP coverage that Vickers is rumoured to be going to WSB with Motocorsa Ducati.

Brad Ray heavily rumoured to be going back to OMG.

  8. He’s a talent. No doubt. Hopefully wherever his next ride is he learns some maturity.

  9. It’s normally said to be far (as in several years) easier to stop a fast guy crashing but stay fast, than to get a steady guy to be fast without crashing, so it’s either short-sighted on the team’s part, or there lis more to it than just his frequent spectacular trips into the scenery.

  10. Confirmed he’s going to Motocorsa.

He’s given an interview during the WSB coverage.

Nice factory supported wsb wildcard to end his time with Yamaha at the end of the season too.
