I don't recall ever seeing a black one on road in my time.

 

certainly for Italian cars of the 60s and 70s, the company would allocate colours only designated for a certain country unless asked for by special order, possibly the same with Ducati.

 

Thinking out loud what's the cheapest paint colour available for the manufactures worldwide.

 

I remember a forum member had an original ? black SS and rebuilt it the same he all so rebuild a yellow one which if I’m not wrong is up for sale on eBay from a dealer, white frame,wheels.
I’m not a lover of black bikes as hides the shape/detail of the bike but with the white frame, wheels and decals looks good,
Wonder if there is an orange/ white one out there

I'd have a new black Buell S1 lightning back in 1998 but that was naked so only the seat, fuel tank, mudguard & flyscreen were in Blk.

 

I've seen a 900ssie that looked very good as it was black...it masked the awkward cut form behind the front wheel..

 

Not well enough!
