V4 The New Panigale V4 For 2025 - How Do You Like It?

  1. Hey everyone

The new Panigale V4 2025 is quite controversial. So when opportunity knocked last weekend, I packed my camera, drove to Hockenheim and recorded the brand-new superbike in proper 4K. Enjoy! What are your thoughts on the design?

  3. That's the dilemma usually. You could always go for a Honda. Then you would like the price but nothing else :D Well, they're supposed to be reliable, too...

    Edit: Or wait 20 years!

  4. I think it looks lovely, the only bike I've contemplated selling my R for.

  5. I don't even mind the price too much, but the exhaust costing around one third of the price of the base bike... I'd like to get one but it gets very expensive very quickly to have it as a track bike.

  6. .... you don't need an exhaust or rearsets or suspension to run them as a good track bike though. Fairings (DP ones are cheap and have no hidden costs to fit), some crash protection, and a spare set of wheels (the forged wheels for this from Ducati are half the price of previous offerings). Yes it is an expensive bike, but there really is no need to spend any more on it to run it on track (unless you really want to).

  7. Considering Euro restrictions I would expect that heat would be more of an issue without the exhaust, not to mention the weight advantage, so I think the exhaust would be worthwhile. It's double the price it should be though, thanks to Ducati tax.

I thought the only DP offering for wheels prior to this were the magnesium ones, which would be more expensive than forged.

I think you'd want suspension if getting the base bike.

  8. It isn’t just the price of the exhaust, I would then also have to start worrying about noise levels. I’m not racing, so I’m not going to notice that low down weight with my skills.

The Mag wheels were/are around £5k. I’m sure the standard Marchesini Forged wheels on the current V4 were over £3k. The Ducati forged rims for the 2025 are under £2k.

if you’re going base bike you’ve already saved enough money for wheels and suspension, however the suspension on the 2022+ is the best OEM suspension I have ever used and I haven’t felt it holding me back like on previous bikes.

  9. Exactly. The fancy ass zorst just happens to be the first kerching… followed by many more kerchings… I think we’ve all been there… o_O

  10. You're talking about the base suspension?

I still think that the road exhaust is going to create more heat. You also cannot get EVO3 DTC software for slicks unless you've got the Ducati Akrapovic map on first.

The forged wheels are not as expensive as I thought they would be - actually a suprisingly decent price and a must-have.

I'm in Prague and so bounce between Most and Brno - noise levels haven't been a problem with low or high Akraprovic on my bikes. I know UK tracks can be a bit more difficult (always made me laugh that they were worried about the noise from bikes when they had hundreds of planes flying overhead for the local airport).

  11. Remember when they were offering it for £1,500 with the purchase of a new R? I wonder if they were even losing money... It should be half the price.

I wonder if there is any other vehicle in the world where the performance exhaust costs one third of the cost of the entire vehicle?

  12. There’s a good reason why a lot of us left the UK to live in less restrictive lands, but I’ll stop there before this turns political :joy:

  13. You're being price gouged.

The same useless squirter unit that fails often (mine didnt last 15k miles) is the same unit on the new bikes. A poor quality item that isnt fit for a production vehicle is standard on a 30k premium bike.

  14. No. I was talking “S” suspension. I was making the separate point that if you’re looking at the base model you have already saved enough to upgrade whatever you want.

  15. Man maths... Don't worry - I use that method extensively myself. :upyeah::joy:

  16. So I've just been sent a preview by Ducati of a much rumoured new model and had to sign an NDA, so can't obviously post any details on here, save to say, see my post in another thread on here about what it is, citing the rumoured model that has been talked about on many US forums for a few months now. The price is :astonished: EYE WATERING :astonished: is all I can say!

  17. It’s a trike. I bloody knew it. Just saying:upyeah::upyeah::upyeah::upyeah::upyeah:

  18. It seems to me that Ducati are moving towards smaller volumes and higher prices for its superbike and to appeal mainly to an affluent market. Thus us 'normals' are being priced out. Which is their choice I guess. Theyll lose customers but gain a few rich customers. Hence the stupid specials with fancy paint that costs 30k on top of the base machine. Paint that someone could do for 2k tops. The other 28k is like a kind of moron tax.

So, i'll stick to pre v4 machines from here on in. Always lusted after a 1098R, maybe its time. Vtwins have always been why I liked Ducati's. Theyre daft.

  19. You would be surprised how much a race rep paint job will set you back these days. I got a quote to get mine painted before I went down the wrapping route and this is the response:

“Cost to do all the paintwork and use decals for the sponsor logos would be £3000 + VAT, to do the paintwork and use a mix of airbrush work and decals to do the sponsor logos would be between £3500 - £4000 + VAT depending on the mix.”

  20. Yup, and some of the paint jobs on those choppers can be well north of £15k! :astonished:
