Trying to get the clutch bled after a complete empty of the system (new master cylinder internals). Absolutely no pressure from lever, no pull on reservoir after initial pump (2-3). It seems that perceived wisdom is let gravity do it's job overnight first but just wondered if there any tricks or advice that can be shared to get this done? Cheers, K.
You could try disconnecting the banjo at the mc, put a rag underneath it to catch drips, pull the lever back to the bar, place your finger over the hole the banjo screws in then release the lever, release your finger and repeat. Your finger stops air being drawn back into the m/c so it has no option but to pull down from the reservoir. Once fluid starts to be squeezed out forcefully from the end of the m/c replace the banjo and bleed as normal. Or just open the bleed nipple at the slave and leave it for a while (few hours) keeping an eye the reservoir doesn’t run dry, gravity will work.
Hadn't thought of trying that, so will give it whirl if leaving it overnight to let gravity do it's stuff doesn't work. Cheers.
They can be difficult to get going. I have a cheap Chinese vacuum bleeder that hooks up to a compressor. Sucks the fluid through from the bleed nipple end. Makes the job quick and simple.
All done. Just used my tyre pump to prime from the slave/actuator. Took a few minutes. Thanks for the input all!

Just moving it around the garage highlights the weight difference between it and my 916SP3 - it is really noticeable, so I would imagine it is far less hard work to ride. I've not ridden it so fingers crossed...
They're all in a chest/drawer/bench thingy on wheels under the bench at the back behind the 998R... which will be gone shortly so back to a bit more room. Also the old wooden wardrobe/chest has been collected... I'm a bit 'everything in it's place...' if you know what I mean!
So the 998R is off tomorrow so I did a little clearing up in anticipation. And then moved some stuff around because I could… order will soon be restored!
I'm insanely jealous of your confidence, I wish I could get my head round restoring some sort of order to my house but I've been snowed under for so many years I just can't get a grip on it. It's pretty much the only thing which is screwing my life up but I still can't seem to sort it. How hard can it be to start picking things up and putting them away or throwing them out? For me it has just been getting more and more impossible for many years but I'm still hopefull that one day.......
