Collected my PP today. I think it definitely looks better than the standard MS 1260/s. The suspension is firmer and is more confidence inspiring. The lighter wheels do make a difference as expected too. Early days yet and the roads were damp but I think I’ve made the right decision.
@fatbob99, I’m a nuts and bolts person, electronics are outside my pay scale but IMO, the current Öhlins SCU is very likely to be an evolution of the Öhlins Mechatronic unit fitted to the first generation Multistrada 1200S. Andy
Congratulations on your new bike! Got the same impression riding mine home. Think it's a step up in quality feel to the ride over the 1260s. Have spent the last couple of weeks installing all the farkles from my old bike as well a some new ones. New front wheel bearings installed in wheel but that's still in the kitchen. Might get into the garage later...
So after close to a month of cleaning, polishing and repairing the bike is back together. Lots of seized fasteners, rear spindle, etc, but now it’s back together I’m pleased with the result. Ordered a supersprox 42t rear sprocket which should arrive on Tuesday. I did go down to a 14t on the front but it messed up the autoblipper. Paint protection film to be fitted over winter and a few parts to repaint such as the centre stand and sump guard.
Nice job cleaning that up Was away for a couple of weeks so have only been out a handful of times on mine so far. Foray into Wales today with some mates for a late breakfast. Plenty of B roads and lanes, loving the PP and the way it rides. Need to clean it tomorrow as it's now filthy.
Thanks. I do tend to look after my bikes extremely well. It’s not enough to just have a full service (Ducati or self) in my opinion.
