Now that's been published nice and early (british gp in may and four spanish rounds again can do one quite frankly but here we are) what chance is there of avoiding so many clashed weekends with WSB/BSB and instead dove tail them to increase viewers? I wont be holding my breath.
R3, Snetterton and Mugello, R7, Cadwell and Balaton (Hungary), R8 Donington and Montmelo, R10, Oulton Park and Mandalika and R11, Brands Hatch and Phillip Island. Nothing yet released for WSBK. Andy
Yes, late May bank holiday weekend which is the middle weekend of the TT. Not surprised, for BDRC it’s not cars and Dorna has no interest in ‘local’ motorcycle racing. Andy
it’s practice week that week but even if I wasn’t booked for it, sod that windy freezing cold and over priced shit hole in mid may. A big step backwards imo
I would like to go to Assen again but it is the wrong time for work. Motegi - hmmm - but will it rain !!
Indonesia looked nice last week, beach a few hundred yards from the start finish straight, imagine its cheap as chips for food/beer too!
Yeh i did Bali for a week or so for a mates wedding a while back and it wasn't pleasant. Could always go from there down to Sydney and do a little cross Oz trip to PI afterwards i guess. Arse end of the world though isnt it so youre "in for the long haul" wherever you end up
Seems odd going from Indonesia to Japan and then back to Oz though, then back to Thailand then back to Malayasia. I mean talk about a flip flop tour of Asia Pacific.
Go business class tight wad. I’ve been to South Korea but not Japan. Going next year- looking forward to it…
I have no aspirations to return to the far east, been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Enjoy Japan which I’m sure you will ……. one piece of advice when you do go, mind your manners Andy
Bit Pearl Harbour innit? Ey ey ey… bit of a nip in the air me old china… gerrit? Off to visit my nephew who’s married to a (very pretty) Japanese girl. Don’t worry, I’m well traveled and know how to behave myself
I had Malaysia booked the first year of lockdowns - all cancelled. Sepang might be worth the effort to travel there but not sure all of the Eastern circuits are worth the effort. Nice to drink cheap beer and sit in the sun maybe - but not sure all of the circuits are worth the journey.
Sepang is a great track for ease of getting to , no seat numbers so free roaming in main stands to get to your favourite spot, and it’s cheap. We love it and have been there 3 times now. Only downsides are it’s right at end of season so possible that champions have already been crowned , and it’s humid as hell of course. How the riders handle the heat and humidity never ceases to amaze me. We were there for the infamous Rossi / Marquez incident in 2015. The buzz that weekend was unbelievable. Love the place and will definitely go back again in future.
