  3. That's some re-writing or history since Dave Black ran it followed by Bob Collins after Daves passing, when he assumed ownership of FWR ... !!!!

I think I'll stick with FWR for my tyres where loyalty is recognised and rewarded.

Which reminds me, I need to get Bob to post out some VO2's for me, thanks for jogging my memory with a chuckle !!!!

  4. Used these guys many times and they've gone the extra mile when needed and never let me down. As a fan/friend of FWR+Bob, these guys are as good as, if not better. Give them a shot.

  5. Awaiting further news, although I’m still apprehensive about taking tyres to my local fitters…

  6. I purchased an Abba bead breaker... and have never looked back. ;)

  7. Do bike tyres need balancing?

  8. I do it, but not needed if it’s a track bike.

  9. I've found it depends on the manufacturer. I've started using Dyna Beads if needed.

  10. IMO, definitely yes. Andy

  11. I have one of these kits. Bought the Ducati SSA cones for the balancer at the same time, use the main one on the changer as well. Works well, quite tough getting the rear bead of Michelin Road5s and 6s over the rim but doable.

Not sure if Max2h are still in business though, their website seems to be gone.

I balance both fronts abd rears. Some of the weights fell off the rear least time after a few hundred miles. Didn't really notice the difference TBH. Have previously, before I went DIY, had a badly balanced front and that needed sorting by the place that fitted the tyres.

  12. I bought an Abba kit , bead breaker , balancer etc about ten years ago and have fitted my own since

  13. Seriously....once I discovered the ziptie method...dead easy..:upyeah:

  14. I tried the ziptie method, but I didn't find it so easy on Bridgestones, esp the rear, they're so stiff. Probably easier on Metz/Pirellis.

  15. Hi Dibble, sorry I was just hoping to let anyone know that even though we're a new business, we have lots of experience.

Chris and Bob worked 'under' Dave for a long time and worked at / ran FWR for around 20 years (because Dave spent a lot of time riding his Desmosedici around Spain, doing trackdays) and Bob and Chris ran the shop. When Dave died, Chris and Bob bought the business from his wife, Mandy. Chris then left a few years back to start Two Tyres. I think, prior to that, Chris worked at Universal Tyres for 5 years and prior to that he was a London motorcycle courier. I didn't think anyone wanted to know (or cared) about the details but there you have it. I should have said Chris has worked in and around motorcycle tyres for 20+ years and everyone would have been happy!

Balancing tyres - for sure, if they need doing. You'll massively feel it if a rear isn't balanced when it needs to be.

  16. I love getting new tyres, having them delivered home is better than having them delivered to a fitter.

When tyres are delivered home you can check them out properly - see how heavy they are, feel the rubber, read all the writing on them - and the smell of them - love it. !!

I have a set here now, from two tyres, going on the bike next week :upyeah:

  18. You got Tourance’s at the moment? I’ve got 3000 miles on mine and wondering about what to fit next. Maybe something a bit more road biased.

  19. Yes I have Tourances.

Have done about 6k miles and rear is squared.

I did think of going more Road biased but also thought about going knobblier
