Buying Items From Sweden Anyone?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Chris, Oct 6, 2024.

  1. ..you could call this part naivity on my part, but just for moral support, if anyone else has recently imported anything from Sweden with no additional duties, then please let me know. I know i might get knowledgeable people quote what ought to happen, but have been caught out before despite this.
I'm possibly over-thinking this, but no-one likes a smug "holding your goods to ransom" card through the letter box.

Grateful for any help on this.

  2. that's what i thought, seller says they 100% cover all Taxes and Shipping costs, and the price they display is all i will have to pay. Have asked them to guarantee re-imbursement if charged but seller didn't offer this.. so will pass i think.

  3. Under £135 and seller has paid VAT seems to be the key.

  4. yes, I would've gone ahead if below that but cost is £240. it's a pair of boots, I wonder if I can get them to sell left and right separately?

  5. With my luck I would either get two of the same foot or two of different sizes.

  6. I just bought some new parts for my '79 900SS from Sweden and wasn't charged anything by customs.
