we can work a lot of this out between us with a bit of patience, so far, it looks as though the person does have to be online before the award can be made. I might be able to find out about your scrolling theory Andy: – @RickyX @Nasher do you regularly scroll up the page with your right thumb/use a finger close to the awards bar?
Hmmm But there are many profiles which are associated with the nonsensical emojis, and many of them are longstanding, well known & liked members, with unlocked profiles.
I use iPhone and I'm scrolling with my left hand fore finger If I stop at a post to read and my finger happens to be on the nuke smilie for longer it will give a nuke rating just as it did on Androids post I often press disagree when I want to agree and I now enlarge my screen to make sure I use the right one *edit I seem to have forgotten which is left and right I'm using my right hand not my left
That’s very true. Perhaps @Chris could amend his poll so people can advise what device, make, type, browser, they access the forum through. If it is a bug I’m guessing someone will need that sort of info.
I like your idea Paul, but it's a different kind of poll, you could construct a new one, and would be happy to vote.
Not aimed at you in the slightest Chris - more the bellends who interfere with forums and code just to create problems - saddos! I’m a systems tester by trade so wonder if it’s worth trying to figure out what’s gone on with some explorartory testing, but it will take time and in terms of users’ hardware etc, there are a lot of parameters to cover!
Just looked at my history again, as I have started doing regularly after this issue started, it appears that I left an unintentional emoji on a @West Cork Paul post Now, this is where it gets confusing, when scrolling in this session, I was using my finger, only touching the screen in the centre of any post, and deliberately making sure that I did not put my finger anywhere near the emoji bar, but, it still left an emoji on his post
Right-thumb scrolling for me on my Google Pixel. I can scroll up & down with my thumb on the emoji bar and that has no effect. I have to tap one to make it react.
I only use my desktop pc to browse the ducati forum. I've just checked and haven't left any unplanned emojis (I generally only give likes, agrees, thanks, useful etc). I did receive one puzzling dislike from @gmoss on Sunday. Not sure whether it was intended or a random that we have been experiencing lately.
Like Chris and Andy I'd come to this conclusion. I don't browse the site on my phone very often, but when I do I use my right thumb, and yes managed to Nuke Chris. As a test I visited the site early this morning on my phone and scrolled with my Left thumb. It felt really awkward, but I didn't Nuke anyone.
