Multistrada 1200

  1. Hi all, 1st post so be kind lol. I've tried searching for this but can't find another thread for it. Well here goes, my key fob doesn't seem to be working since the bike won't even switch on the electrics (keyless fob) i have to use the red key and touch it to the sensor behind dash to turn everything on. While I am riding and got the key fob in my pocket it is showing up on dash as no key, so will it be the key fob or a sensor problem on the bike itself? Hope this makes sense to you all.

  5. its a warrantyrecall from Ducati....key fobs not working properly
my new fob is waiting for me on my return to UK

  6. It's a 2013 multistrada, that won't be a recall on a bike that old would it?

  9. Which brand of battery did you fit ? The early keyless fobs struggle to work with Duracell. Andy

  10. coulda been just a generic answer to your question.
supply VIN number n reg n get them to check on the system while you're on the phone ...my guy took all of 3 minutes to find out the info

  11. I have fitted Energizer ones without any problems.

  12. Just checking, you did remove the small sticky label (tastes bitter to stop young children eating them) from the underneath of the battery didn’t you? It’s been known to happen before and if it’s not removed the battery can’t make contact inside the fob.

Assuming you did, it may be the key has lost the connection to the hands free unit (although that’s rare unless the fob itself has developed a fault) and will need either a dealer and DDS or an independent with Texa to recode it.

  14. my mate had this problem with his Yamaha last week. He called the RAC as the bike was dead no response from fob. The RAC came out and they disconnected the live on the battery and touched the negative with the live lead reconnected the live and all was well, he said that its the firs thing he does when called out to fobs not responding
