  9. @Jez900ie, let it wash over you, the Xen-Foro or the WMTech add-ons software has a glitch. I’m sure there will be a patch as soon as someone gets to the bottom of it. Andy

  13. Couldn't say, though I'd imagine it would have come out by now? The Queen Mary hit one of ours "HMS Curacoa" with the lost of 300+ as the ship was forbidden to stop and rescue the naval ratings.

"We could see our escort zig-zagging in front of us[Note 2] - it was common for the ships and cruisers to zig-zag to confuse the U-boats. In this particular case however the escort was very, very close to us.

I said to my mate "You know she's zig-zigging all over the place in front of us, I'm sure we're going to hit her."

And sure enough, the Queen Mary sliced the cruiser in two like a piece of butter, straight through the six-inch [sic] armoured plating.

    — Alfred Johnson, eye witness, BBC: "HMS Curacao Tragedy"

  14. That’ll be the incident, I’ve incorrectly recalled the event I’d been told about.

    Hitlers bounty story

My late Father appeared to be obsessed by all things WW2 and read a hell of a lot of books on the subject.
He’d often spout stories and I’d half listen.

In the words of Sgt Phill Esterhaus (Hill St Blues) - "Let's be care full out there"

Oh, keep an eye on you dogs. A dog for the same litter ate something the other week and was quite ill, OK now.

Sorry for being too wordy, but you did get 2 pictures.

    Cheers Gaz
