  1. IMG_3586.jpeg First coat AC50 ready for the winter rides , can’t wait. Second coat tomorrow after a pre heat . Bring in the cold days and fine tune the grip hunt ready for the summer slides lol
The Evo tec full guards did there job well , well recommend them . 6k

  2. That engine looks brand new! What cleaning products do you use?

  3. Do not underestimate the power of a proper application of acf 50 (atomised via compressor and paint gun). My bike still looks new after a wash despite it being several years old.

  4. Gtechniq range , snow foam , shampoo and ceramic wash , C2 liquid crystal for the body polish . Always use bottle type brushes for the hard to get to bits , but normally strip down and do a good auto glym degrease clean and reapply the AC50 . The Evotech protection panel do a great job of keeping most at bay along with the fender extender . I alway wash , and dry my bike after every ride as I like to keep it clean , so about 20 washes and a few strip downs at 6k now.
Once the salt starts only ride on dry cold days as to keep it away from the crannies , only ride for pleasure so have the option .

  5. Must do mine before the salt goes on the road, better start warming up the can of ACF50 a few days before so it actually sprays out of the can instead of dribbles:D

  6. Warm engine and put a jam pot in hot water and a detailing brush , less mess plus you can check all the bike out.

  8. No , it’s on an ABBA Skylift which allows you to raise the front right up which allows total access to the underside and front . You could take it out but still have the ability to sit on a cushion on the floor even thou both knees are a bit worn lol

  10. Thanks. Next question, which adapters are you using for the skylift please? ie the code number on them? I've the entire set of adapters from ABBA and I'm buggered if I can find ones that fit securely, it's always a bit wobbly on the lift, to the degree I've just given some plans to the local engineering workshop for them to produce two specific threaded inserts that will screw into the threaded holes at the swing arm pivot point once the blanking plate is removed.

  11. The ones I use are not threaded , but I will do a sketch of the parts for you. I have drilled the cross bar and inserted a pin to lock against the slide mount to make it more solid and can move it arond with no issues in all positions.

  12. I love my abba lift for this, but when I do my application I do sometimes remove the wheels and just stick a plastic bag over the rear brake. Else I'll just cover both wheels entirely with sheets.

Still, the abba lift is a brilliant bit of kit and I'd strongly recommend to any home DIY'ers working on their bike.

  14. Perfect. Thank you very much.:upyeah:

Therein lies the problem, on the 2 multistrada V4s I've had the pleasure of working on to date they both have replaced those bolt covers with red anodised variants, so I've been unscrewing that and going into the fitting behind it so as not to damage the anodising.

  16. Getting lots of Lock Thread ratings , is that as some do not go out in the cold and wet days ? Or just fat finger syndrome ..

  17. Not guilty (this time) it's user "DRS". They suggest every thread should be locked, maybe they don't like talking about motorcycles :joy:
