Shocking I know but man have you seen some of the artwork on those, unlike a racerep job, some of those really could be considered art.
I was really surprised how much a race rep paint job from dream machine costs. They have quoted me £1800 to do the lot.
It doesn’t surprise me, I have a Nsr250 and the race paint on that was £2000 back in 2009, all graphics are paint though
Will be sticking with my 24 V4R, with the Akra that I paid £1500 for….new one isn’t as pretty as mine with SSSA. My opinion of course.
That was a good deal. The best I could get was just over €5,000, if I remember correctly, although I did get a €5,000 discount on the bike.
Well I wasn't sure the price could be divulged on here, but since it has been, I agree that it's ludicrous for what it is. Even the "niche" 163 quantity being produced, still makes it no less of a bitter pill to swallow at that price point. As will have been pointed out, you could, for a fraction of that cost, produce something very similar yourself, by dipping into the accessories catalogue and come in £20K cheaper (which is still too much for what you are actually getting). As with all these replicas, they will sell but when you look at bikes like the 1299 Superleggera or the D16RR, those bikes were much more aligned with what most people would consider or label as "special".
So, its a paper tiger. Not seen pictures of it yet. Does that mean the new V4R will be ~75k too? Not sure why people would opt for a v4s with paint over a v4r. But peeps bought v4sp's when the v4r is not much more. Everyone has differing needs i guess.
If it’s dripping in high end exotic parts then fair enough but if it’s just a regular bike in a new frock then Ducati really do know how to have peoples pants down.
Did they struggle to sell any of the 2023 championship Bezzechi/Martin/Bautista/Bagnaia bikes for US$63k+? They were limited and different, however not special enough for those price tags! How many £7k exhausts did I see at the DUK trackday?!...... fools love being robbed by Ducati!
I expect the new R will be released just as soon as the maximum homologation price has been increased again.
Are you suggesting Ducati get the motogp and wsbk, bsb etc to bend rules to their advantage? Shocking if true.
You mean like how they delayed the launch of the current R by a week, the FIM announced a price increase in the morning and Ducati launched the new R with the new increased price that afternoon?
or how Ducati keep releasing 'specials' at silly money to compete against the much cheaper 750cc japanese bikes and so on, or how the gp budget is allegedly 5x that of honda or yamaha etc. Ducati are the Man City of motorcycle manufacturers. Easier to buy championships.
