After a couple of weeks in sunny and warm Greece I’m back and ready for a ride. Mudguards refitted, bib longs and long sleeves for myself.
for those that notice, i'm bowing out of this for now as can't shake off some damaged sustained around 3 months ago, how i wish i had not sent a certain text on that day.. Coming on this thread just makes me envious now, be careful out there you particularly old wheelmen.
I had noticed, but I presumed you were hurt in some way and didn’t want reminding of something that you enjoy but no longer partake in.
I’m tempted to nuke this post but in light of current issues with the emoji bar it wouldn’t be taken seriously.
Yesterday I gave in a re signed up to Zwift, it appears this is the only online cycling you can dip in and out of by cancelling your subscription, but when you sign up your data is available. The price however has gone up from £12.99 to £17.99 a month since last December. In fairness it has been £12.99 since I started in 2020. Hopefully the weather will be kind and I will only use it for four months. Yesterday I did three laps of a course in NYC and increased my FTP to 175, which is better than the previous FTP test result of 113. Back out on the road this morning for some flat riding along the Wylye valley.
40 miles today, wife dropped me off at Rugged Roads I cycled home against the flow of hundreds of cyclists going the other way who turned out to be riding the Gridiron 100. Nice lunch at The Borough Cafe in Downton. Bike needs a clean !
This one after 5 plus weeks not being on the a friends bike again, i stopped and viewed a delightful thatched cottage up 4 sale but i couldn't sell the idea of purchasing to any friends or family with large bank accounts.
