Hopefully not but they can’t build a Tesla to reverse park into a spot effectively but they can get a rocket to reverse its trip to the exact same spot…. Just don’t see how it can be done. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t. But these days I don’t believe my eyes….
They can build a Tesla to reverse into any space, they can't -as yet- build a Tesla to reverse into every space. PS. I'd heard Iron Mike got kicked in the nuts but didn't know Snoop liked pink!
Stunning achievement. SpaceX's competitors so far behind it's unreal, they've built such a dominant position.
It does make me feel a bit of a dinosaur. I remember spacecraft returning to earth on parachutes and crashing into the sea...
From Musk on Twitter "Just inspected the Starship booster, which the arms have now placed back in its launch mount. Looks great! A few outer engine nozzles are warped from heating & some other minor issues, but these are easily addressed. Starship is designed to achieve reflight of its rocket booster ultimately within an hour after liftoff. The booster returns within ~5 minutes, so the remaining time is reloading propellant and placing a ship on top of the booster."
No way! I assumed there’d be a bit more to it than giving the booster a quick wipe with a damp sponge and that they’d be doing a full tear-down and rebuild in between flights.
If a corporation buys something, they can rename it anything they like. That doesn't mean the public accepts and uses it. Imagine if Musk bought Kellogg's -would you immediately call the breakfast cereal Xflakes?
