Hi All, Just wanted to say Hi, I currently have a Daytona 675 which I have had for 3 years but fancied another Ducati having had a 748 some years back (hence the username). On Saturday I put a deposit down on a new 848 Evo (Red of course) so hopefully it all goes through and I'll get an idea this week when I can pick it up. I am fairly aware of some of the issues with early 848's and radiators etc, my understanding is that now they should be a pretty well sorted bike apart from the need to check bolts are done up fairly regularly? Anyone have any 'best bang for £' mods that are useful? already thinking a 14t front sprocket but the Termig's were just silly money so they will have to wait for a while. Will post pics nearer to getting it. Phill
Another 2 guys I recognise Hopefully I will get a delivery date etc sorted this week so will be able to get excited and also will be able to sell lots of bits from my Daytona.
hi and welcome im sure youll enjoy it immensely cheapest performance mod is to spend a few grand more and buy a pre reg old stock 1198 lol
Ah, I should have said, I don't want more power, it has plenty!! actually I am surprised it feels like it has quite a bit more than the Daytona (i think it has around 12-14 HP more rear wheel) but was shocked how much it really wanted to keep revving. I'll be sad to leave the Daytona, it's been a great bike.
Well.... A mate has just bought a 748, so after 5 years away and having ridden lots of other stuff (mainly the Daytona, so I guess getting used to stuff other than IL4's) I had a go on it and just really enjoyed it. I just think I was a little too inexperienced when I had my 748, I just used to think it was going to explode everytime I opened the throttle too hard! The 848 feels like the 748 did, but obv much newer and with most of the horrid points ironed out, so yes I have been lured back! can't wait.
