I’m going with sarcasm….. lAlways a risk if you’re a follower of a sport to open a thread on that very sport. I still watch sports even if I know the result, but then that probably just me.
What a great season! Lots of shouting - always good to see. Colapinto straight into the points as a brand new rookie without ever driving an F1 car. The main teams closing the performance gap -some of the mid level ones too. The Constructors championship wide open between three teams The drivers championship not over by July And
And we see Crashtappen can’t race!!!! Glad he got the 20 second penalty for trying to take out Lando.
We will see if anyone is better than him in a few races. I'm not a betting man but if I was mine would be on him carrying off the Drivers championship once again.
MV will defend this year. But RB won’t win next year. Unless there is radical improvement. I like Max. He’s fucking mental
If I was Hamilton here I’d be looking at a rage quit right into the side of Verstrapon at turn 1. “Oh sorry mate, it was really wet have I fucked your championship up, really sorry about that” etc..
Team radio - Hamilton in 14th place. "The cars not drivable, locking up and bouncing everywhere." Whilst team mate Russell was leading the race. Now at the front, Max goes from 17th to second in blinding rain -gets lucky with a flag and pitstop- and shows his amazing caliber.
Cant argue with that performance, but as Karun Chandhock said after the race that's what we want to see more of, not his petulance and general gobshitery. Dont fancy our chances much though.
Max was amazing. 17 fastest laps, five consecutive. From 17th to winner More overtakes than the top 5 finishers combined And all done in blinding rain, in the 5th fastest car. As for the interviews The Brit press & media generally deserve what they get.
Not sure what the Brit press have to do with his on track antics which is what Chandhok was referring to but if you compare and contrast him with the likes of pecco and Martin over the last two years (Who’ve proven time and time again you can have close battles at the very top of a sport without overstepping the mark), he comes out of it looking like a really embarrassing pantomime villain. Petty, vindictive, disrespectful and quite often dangerous. Not my words, the words of a large and every growing % of the grid.
Chandhok is a big part of the whining Brit press regarding F1. Right there with Brundle. At the post race media conference where were the pair of them? And the whiners from the Sun, Express, Mail, BBC, etc? After the eventful Sunday in Brazil, Verstappen returned to the post-race press conference, delighted to have claimed his first win in nearly four months. Thanking the media for attending the conference, Verstappen delivered a dig at the British media, which was met by an immediate outburst of laughter from those present at the FIA session. The Dutchman jested: "I have a quick question here I mean I appreciate all of you being here but I don't see any British press- they had to run to the airport or they don't know where the press conference is?" Surprise podium attendee Pierre Gasly responded: "That's a fair question!" Max races within the rules, he doesn't make them though. Here's a list of the penalty points held by the drivers currently: Fernando Alonso 8 Max Verstappen 6 Lance Stroll 5 Nico Hulkenberg 4 Esteban Occon 3 Sergio Perez 3 George Russell 2 Franco Colapinto 1 Kevin Magnussen was given a one race ban for accumulating 12 points which he served in Singapore. Verstappen is now only behind Juan Manuel Fangio, Alberto Ascari and Jim Clark in terms of career win percentage, having reached 30.1% with victory here, surpassing Hamilton.
Nice stats, im not getting into a whataboutery f1 converstaion though lol, its bad enough dealing with the 93 fanboys in a sport i actually give two hoots about
Haha I just like my racing clean it’s what I was brought up on. Even VR46 went down in my estimations and on more than one occasion. Look at what you get treated to as a consequence too. Toprak/the rest of the wsb field Pecco/jorge Tommy/kyle
TBF the Brit media is -at least in part- playing to their braying audience. I think a great many UK people know Max won his first title following a contested/ disputed ruling immediately prior, and they blame that decision on Max. If an error was made, whilst Max benefitted; he was obviously not part of the Stewards/ Race directors team. Brundle, Chandok, Kravitz Coultard & Co all know which side of their bread is buttered and so take every opportunity to slag off the pantomime robber of Lewis's title... They are ably supported by our gutter tabloid press. Thank god Max is not German and as far as we know cannot be shown to be a Remain voter...
