exactly, but £2500 and will be COVERED in warnings about not being road legal, anyone seen the warnings on the new V4 system, literally huge laser etched warnings on the inside of the cans
yeah, and I imagine the stock system is welded. am I the only one who actually didn’t particularly hate the 959 side Akra’s and still think they would look better than this
Good question. Let me attempt to answer it. I think it highly unlikely that anyone who has posted on this thread so far would want one. Without wishing to stereotype, most of ‘us’ are older and have grown up with various Ducati bikes. We all love the older bikes and understand the heritage. The new “Panigale V2” is not aimed at us. It is aimed at people new to Ducati who do not care one jot about the heritage. They want a Ducati and this bike will be accessible. It will sell and it will be a fine motorbike. Just not for us. In car parlance we are the Land Rover Defender crew up in arms about the death of the old tractor while JLR up the game and sell tons of new Defenders at £70k plus a pop. Who is right? I will get my coat.
That’s a fair and even handed assessment IMO. I’ll not ride a sports bike again but if they can transfer that weight loss to a V2 Multistrada, I could be tempted when the Pikes Peak gets too heavy for me. Andy
well put mate, I agree, I think in essence, they are saying to ‘us’ that if we want a premium Ducati go buy a V4, that’s their premium model. I think for me, a new bike purchase would be a Yamaha r9, it’s probably as well built as this, and is £12k. The stock Panigale V2 is £15k so still gives me a few £k for exhaust. oh and keep my 899 in the garage
Just having a look a the weight, Ducati claim 176kg wet but no fuel, the 899 is 193kg wet with fuel so actually not really much different?
this was what I was saying earlier, the outgoing V2 model is quite a bit heavier than the 899, so the gap isn’t as big. I’m just going to leave this here, for reference when we talk about beauty and holistic design, I just don’t think I’ve seen anything in the last few days that moves the game on.
Your prob spot on Jack. I want a 916 v-twin, trellis framed with 200+bhp and electronics and carbon for 20k lol. The world keeps turning whilst I stand still. Bastard.
I only paid £1,200 from the US including duty and taxes. The BMW is a brilliant and comparatively cheap bike, however it really wasn't that interesting or exciting to ride or to look at.
I think that looks worse. Those silencers wouldn't look out of place being sold for £100 on Aliexpress.
For track use mainly. Aguably the new ducatis arent much to look at either since the 999 or 1098r. Never a fan of v4 looks. Its placky.
