Hi there John, Thanks for info. I am sure it looks lovely in carbon. I will be visiting my Ducati dealer (CMW) soon for one tail tidy.
Just to add to the mix, I fitted a Powerbronze tail tidy £50 new, comes powder coated with LED number plate light and fixings.
Big M, did you order the "DUCATI CORSE" decals from the dealer? Was thinking the side of mine looked bland and needed exactly the look of the "R"
I bought them from a company called ' Vultur Bikes' they sell on ebay, but ebay Italy. I can't find the link but if you log onto ebay Italy and type 'Ducati 1199 adesivi' you should find them. You can still buy them using an English ebay account They come as part of a kit which includes all the 'R' decals. It cost about £50 but I ordered the brushed aluminium option which is an extra £15 but they match the existing bikes decals exactly and are worth paying for. There is also a company called 'Carbon World' do them but I'm not sure about the quality of them.
hi mate. looking to get the same tail tidy from powerbronze for my pani. is there any chance you can post more pix? what did you really think about quality of it? is it easy to fit? can you use OEM indicators with it? thanks!
Hi. The quality is very good, powder coated with led number plate light. It's maybe not as sculpted as the more expensive alternatives but at the end of day it's a bracket and a definite improvement on the original monstrosity. The dealer fitted it so I can't comment on fitting but it looks pretty straight forward and you can use the standard indicators. The only slight grumble I have, and I'm being anal now, is you can just see the indicator wires if you make a point of bending down and looking under the tail. No one else notices it apart from me. I'll try and sort some more pics for you tonight.
brilliant, thanks! i would appreciate pictures, but looks like i will get one as i think other brackets priced at the shocking level . i know it is silly to complain about it after you spent £20K on the bike, but is this bracket is good, so be it
Now I dont know whether to ditch my small square replacement plate for a single line plate. Gotta stop reading these forums!!!
It's an 8x3 plate but I only have 5 characters on it and they are spaced right and in the correct font so even though technically it not legal it doesn't look ridiculously small. The last time I got stopped by the police was for speeding and they checked out the bike and never mentioned the plate. Maybe they took pity on me after they slapped me with a fine and a few complimentary points for my riding skills!.
Looking at the instructions (powerbronze) it says reuse the existing number plate holder which is bigger than my 7 x 5 plate............ From your pics I presume you fixed it straight to the bracket? Also did you glue/tape the plate on as I cant see any screws?
I just stuck the plate straight onto the bracket using some double sided Evostick sticky pads from the supermarket and its going no where.
The Ducati one seems to be the only option with a built-in red reflective panel - a legal requirement, IIRC!
