  1. He didn't pay . He did say he got cold on the hour ride home bless him . £279 for a annual/6000 mile service, basically an oil change . The joys of being in warranty I guess .

  2. Cripes. That’s Ducati money! Mine is still in warranty but I just get them to change the oil. Basically the minimum necessary to get a stamp in the book. They don’t like it but I do.

  5. Thought about riding it. Decided it was too cold, so went to the pub. Does that count?

  8. Finally got around to test riding my 916 with my new Maxton rear shock fitted today, I contacted Maxton and asked for some recommended settings re. My weight and riding intentions, and after making the adjustments, except for the sag height, i took it out for a ride, my immediate impressions were of a much plusher and firmer rear end feel that seems to almost float over uneven surfaces...i'll fine tune things as time progresses but initial thoughts are positive.:upyeah:.

  11. put a new chain and sprocket on, cant believe how knackered the old chain must have been, very bendy side ways

    now all smooth as butter

put an extra tooth own the back, im sure it feels a bit more pokey?

  12. It will accelerate faster, but reduce the top speed

  13. Installed new mechanical seal on water pump impeller.
    Installed impeller into alternator case.
    Reinstalled alternator case.
(Came up with an idea to prevent one’s fingers getting trapped due to the strong magnetic force when the case goes back on. I put my homemade extractor tool on the case, plus the bolt in the end of the crank. This then stops the case getting pulled with a bang while one makes sure the impeller is engaged and gear change correct. Then simply undo the tool bolts and it goes on nice and square. I suspect many people do it this way but I thought I’d share.)
Then drained oil out of track bike (approx 400 miles on it) and chucked that and filter in the 1098 to use as sacrificial oil to clean out the sludge from the failed impeller seal.
    Came in.

  18. Crisp & sunny here the last 2 days, so managed to get out on Hermann (BM R1200S) yesterday for a short trip to pick up some work stuff, making rare use of one of the excellent panniers. Then today out on the Triumph tracker to see a friend. Only just got back in time (daylight-running only) at 4.30 as the light suddenly wento_O
That'll probably be it :( for the T140V until Spring - time for some winter gearbox investigation:eyes: & a new clutch...
