  8. Booby Bars!... What about Spearmint Rhino near Warren Street station! Used to work dead opposite, and made for some interesting nights out on a Friday!... Cost me a fortune!

    Order dry martinis.
    They will be made for you at your table. The first is so good, you will have a second. Try not to have a third.
    Expensive? Yes. But a superb start to the evening (or end, if you have the third).

    But Soho is only a stagger away.
    Last time I went, I did have 3 and soon encountered revolving world syndrome. I kept it at bay with coffees at the Bar Italia in Soho, but the next morning I had the mother of all hangovers.

    Bloody good evening though!

    I Dukes Hotel dry martini is a goldfish bowl of gin.
