  1. When it gets moved I won’t see posts so here goes before it does…
i watch a a fair few black guys and gals from over the pond on YouTube. They are more scathing about the black community and what Dems have done to support and sustain poverty and race divides, it’s mad. The stuff they say would be in the white supremist bracket. If they were white. A lot of people I’ve watched over the years who are very left leaning, Gervais, Fry, Musk in most ways, Rogan was until very recently, are now held up as right wing racist women hating nazis. And let’s not forget transphobes…. It great to feel I’m not alone in my thoughts: I think we need social housing, no one should be homeless, every person seeking sanctuary from death that arrives should be supported but I also think only a woman can give birth, there’s nothing wrong with a heterosexual marriage with kids and drag shows aren’t for kids.

Let’s hope we are turning a corner, we’ve reached that point where the majority say ‘home on a second…’ and some rebalance is made.

The jag advert (trying to hero on thread!) seems to be against that and maybe they have signed their own death warrant. Let’s hope handover don’t go same way….

  2. I think that Jaguar’s marketing department have been very clever. Marketing is all about exposure, and yes admittedly, the exposure they’re getting isn’t quite what they expected, but everyone is talking about Jaguar. And everyone will be watching what they do next.

  3. Sadly this ‘style’ of advertising has become predictably dull, if not already passed its sell by.

  4. There is such a thing as bad publicity though. The demographic they now appear to be chasing (a) are skint, (b) aren’t car drivers. Similar stunts cost Bud Light, Gillette and Disney very badly.

  5. I’d agree but look at Bud Lite. Think they actually broke the ‘no such thing as bad publicity’ theory :joy::laughing:

  7. Hearing their responses to all the comments on social media is quite amusing, as they clearly think they’ve done a good job. I don’t, by the way. I think they’ve wrecked what little reputation they had left. But you can’t deny they’ve got everyone talking, and watching what they do next.

  8. The problem we have is now the world thinks what on social media is real. So a few thousand regular SM users control the govt thinking and dictate trends when most DGAF about it all and just find it hilarious at best, ignored at worst. The fact you can have a post on twitter that then ends up on BBc as headlines is fucking bonkers

  9. Controversial stuff - If a manufacturer successfully marketed an "object" for enough years, and it stuck in people's memories and continued to do so in later generations then there is a chance of a revival later on depending on how adaptable the replacement object is for the future etc etc but the "nstabp" approach sometimes fails miserably.
not quite sure where to place Saab automobile sector on this spectrum but it backfired for me, each time they did a "plane" comparison, I just thought "So what?"
