Norton V4sv

  1. There was a bit of fanfare about the Bike Shed in London being a showroom.

I went there last month and there was nothing to do with Norton there (at least as far as being a showroom/dealer).

There was some fanfare last April but seems to have all gone.

Google also lists a dealer in Chelmsford but I see no references to Norton on their site.

According to Norton’s site, Krazy Horse is my nearest dealer.

  2. this is what I mean, there just seems to be so little interest in the brand now I can’t imagine it’s going to survive.

they cancelled the Supersport project, which was a 800cc parallel twin from memory. It was 100% what would work in the market now, a good 800-900cc twin they they could put in a Supersport bike, a naked bike and a retro style bike, all still premium but say ‘realistic’ end of premium. Yet they canned it saying there is no market for it.

I think Norton has tried too many phoenix moments tbh and the damage of garner was just underestimated

  3. I made enquiries about that Superlight and nearly pulled the trigger - about 2 months before it went t1t5 up.

At a decent price point, it would be relevant and sell well I think.

  4. same, when I enquired it was a £1500 deposit, and the top spec one was £20k, which was weirdly just about achievable with time to save and finance.

I felt suspicious though that £1500 deposit was what was needed, it felt like a nominal amount to try and cover the cost of the NEC stand if im honest and that the bike wouldn’t appear.

shortly after I saw a clip of them riding the ‘prototype’ around Donnington hall, but none of the clocks worked, and some claim that actually the prototype had a Kawasaki 650 engine…. At this point I really believed some sketchy stuff was going on.
