Watched it through beer goggles tbf but i thought Beterbiev had the most damaging/hurtful shots although i agree it was almost impossible to call for either fighter. Should be a decent rematch.
Really? Both me and my son had Bivol 5-1 up at the halfway point (I think Beterbiev won the 4th, IIRC) and Sky's judges actually had Bivol winning all 6. Beterbiev did win most of the remaining rounds, but Bivol won at least one of them (the 9th IIRC), so it was either a draw or Bivol took it by a single point (IMO). How the hell the Polish judge scored it 116-112 is beyond me. Bivol's manager says he is filing a protest: https://talksport.com/boxing/2160234/dmitry-bivol-file-official-protest-artur-beterbiev-fight/
Yeah. Watching it with my son on one of his snide website streams. Holloway v Topuria was a decent scrap.
Catterall v Prograis was a bit of a chess match for the first 6 rounds, but came alive for the last 6. Good to see Jack get the win and hopefully another shot at a world title next.
Did anyone just watch the Tyson v Paul classic? Apparently it was terrible. I can’t even bring myself to watch the ‘highlights’ Grim…
It was really sad. It seems Jake Paul must be getting high on his own supply, because he’s talking about fighting Canelo next. Well, RIP, JP.
Tyson sold himself for £15 million; whether that was too much or too little is down to those who paid to watch. This is what Tyson himself says.
“We’re dead. We’re dust. We’re absolutely nothing.” And on that inspirational note, back to the studio….
Not too long now, Usyk v Fury 2. Who wins? I think Fury will have to come out fast- knock the needle out the groove. Usyk is relentless, doesn’t really slow down. After the first fight (which I called wrong) I’m not sure Fury has the engine. And I doubt Fury will be arsing about this time either. Tough to call, but I’ll go Fury again… If he has the fire in his belly. We won’t know until the end of the first round…
Usyk is no doubt a worthy champion. Fury has everything on this fight. Lose and its all over, win and join Ali, Lewis & Holyfield as a 3 time champion god of boxing. Its all down to how much losing for the first time in his career has riled him up. A fully on form, no messing around, totally fit, and hungry Fury should win. I think he will.
His face/eyes at the start of Wilder 2 was very serious and he didn’t disappoint. I’ll be looking for his war face at the same point on 21st. All that aside, Usyk is some boy and will be confident. AJ definitely ran Usyk closer 2nd time around. So Usyk better take his A game, and he invariably does!
I can't help but think of why my ex military boxer pretty much called the first fight correctly. He thought Fury fought him 18 months too late and that Usyk was strong & mobile with a great left. But most telling of all he said that Usyk's training camp was summat like 3 months out in the wilds away from his wife & kids whilst Fury was still living the same life but with training thrown in. So who is going take it seriously this time? Tough to call... so I ain't gonna call it...
