  1. Couldn't agree more, it's there more for my ears as I use it when leaving the bike in a built up area and I'll generally stay within ear shot.

  2. There's nothing Roadlok does that would do that, and no plans to do so as it would totally change the design of the unit, and the purpose of its design is to offer a secure, compact solution to motorcycle security.
As been mentioned, do people in this day and age pay any attention to an alarm, which is sad but seems to be the case.
An after market alarm would be a solution, or see if the bike manufacture sell a "plug & play" unit that could easily be installed.
I always spec an alarm on my bikes, but that's purely to get my attention if it sounds whilst parked up at home.

  3. Hi all, I just wanted to share this video with you. My apologises for not posting it sooner as I was emailed the video back in May by John Milbank.

It was absolutely amazing "Bike Social" voted the Roadlok as the best Disc-Lock on the market at this time and I wanted to share the video with you as was just reassuring to know I protect my own bike with a product thats as good as they get. Now the biking season is over and I'll hopefully get some free time, I plan to get Roadlok "Sold Secure" rated, just to have Roadlok rated.

I was recently contacted by three customers who wanted to thank Roadlok for preventing their bikes being taken.
Two attempts were via a disc cutter, the third attempt was via a hammer a chisel.

I've always had faith in the product, its why I became a reseller and protect my own bike with one, and have done for many years.

Thank you to all those who have purchased a Roadlok from me, your support and kind words and patience over the past year when I haven't been as available as I would have liked to have been, and the amazing support from the forum admins.

  4. Hi all, it's early days yet and I need to talk with the admins more BUT, I'll soon be selling abba stands after spending a lot of time with the family who setup and run the business whilst I was at the NEC show for the 9 days it was on as I had a ROADLOK stand there, sharing with abba.
I was so impressed with the stands that I treated myself to a "Skylift" as pictured below.
As always I'll do my best re the price and deal should any member be interested in getting any of the stands from the abba range, and once I've "fine tuned" things, I'll be able to confirm pricing for Subscribed members.

  6. Has anyone used this on V4 Multi?

  7. It's suitable for the Multi. You just need to remove the covers/frame protectors so the swing arm pivot bolt is exposed to lift the bike.

  8. Nice one Chris, good luck mate.

  9. Not a V4, but my 1260 pretty much lives on my skylift, it's on it right now stripped down for it's winter upgrades/clean up. My only issue with it is the paint on the main bar the rollers run on when going up and down has shred it's paint, as a result the rollers get stuck and adds friction to the lift. However, it's not been a problem in functionality, just something I'll need to sort at some point.

In terms of weight, it can hold a lot! The piston it's self is rated up to 300kg or higher I think, where as the frame is the limiting factor. I've pulled and pushed the bike all over whilst in the lift, even at max height and as much as it sways or moves around a little, it's never given me concern that the bike it's self isn't secure.

Plus, you can get frame sockets to hoist the bike up with rather than the swingarm sockets so you can even remove said swingarm (on my list for this winter clean up). It really is worth it and if you have the space and like to work on your own bikes, it's an absolute must imo.

  10. With a better garage (more room and smoother floor) I'd certainly be interested in one of these, have been for a while. A move is potentially on the cards in the next 12 months so I could well be buying one in the not so distant future.

  11. I bought my Skylift with the £ I saved from replacing my Panigale water pump myself. Absolutely great piece of kit. Two small downsides : casters need smooth surface to roll on (bigger ones might help?) and keeping track of which set of adaptors is for which bike (I now have four sets incl the standard) but me remembering to put them in their own ziplock bag would alleviate that.

  12. Use some metal paint and dip the none contact end in it to signify which pairs are which. I did this for my 2 sets (Ducati (red) and Yamaha (blue)).

  13. Yep. I could even return them to the bag which I marked, or even write their designation on in marker, but like everything, these things get overlooked/put off until I tidy up later!

  14. I share a garage with another bike owner. Both bikes of similar value. Garage was broken into. Which bike was stolen, not mine, I had a crappy chain on rear wheel but hane Roadlok too. Mate had chains and no Roadlok, they took his. My bike was moved slightly, they had a good look at Roadlok and decided to look elsewhere. That’s my recommendation, and ofcourse it is so convenient being attached to the bike all the time too.

  15. That's fantastic. Not for your mate though, obvs!

  16. He now has a Roadlok on his replacement brand new KTM, being a KTM it will probably not be worth not even magic beans in a short while. Although to the hooded scooter scumbags who do the nicking it is still of value.
