Not exactly a well kept secret (certainly in the US). This has been on the table for some months now. I guess it's immediate comparison (stylistically) will be the 2018 V4 Speciale. We will see tomorrow. I wonder how it will stack up pricewise against the ridiculously overpriced (£75,000 ) 2025 Bagnaia Replica V4S
£48,000 so not as ridiculously overpriced. Agree it seems conceptually similar to the 2018 speciale and it has some nice bits (new carbon wheels, dry clutch and racing t-drive discs) but I think the paint design is really awful.
The chequered flag design on the bottom just doesn’t work for me, it does help mask the boring design on the solid red S though.
How many more of these can they keep selling? The more specials they produce, the less special they become.
There is so much I don't like about this design. Primarily the 'schizophrenic' paint scheme, with its insipid bile green tone, which looks washed out. The chequered flag looks awkward on a bike with such angular lines, reminding me more of an advert for Flash vinyl flooring cleaner. The carbon winglets look better for not being body coloured and the nose fairing is not bad. All in all, I think you could have thrown a couple of tins of paint at it whilst blindfolded and it would have yielded better results. Next to the 2018 V4 Speciale or indeed older bikes such as the 1299 FE or the 998, it just doesn't suit this assault of colour. In a race rep version such as Bautista's livery it looked a lot better (at least the one I saw at WDW did).
More overpriced sticker kit non special that won’t bail the vw group out! still if you build it they will come..
£48k, and covered in chequered flag, which I hate, luckily I’m not forced to buy one! anyone remember the utterly stunning 1008s Tricolore, that was when they got it right.
As has been said, not sure why they keep sticking with that absolutely awful shade of green, its been abysmal since they introduced it, and 48k, ok, will take two, they are getting more of a trinket with each release ...
Ducati are pretty much aiming their V4's at teh top end of the market. Whats a V4 / V4S price now ? £25 to £30k ? This is just another option for people with that sort of money to choose from. Its all a bit ' meh ' for me.
Preferred this, more to the point I could afford it! Only sold when I moved to France. Prices not moved much in the last 7 years….and the sound from those pipes!! That fancy v4 thing with the gaudy sticker kit can only go one direction.
Tough crowd. I think it looks great! Will I be buying one? Nope… Will I be getting all bitter and twisted about the price tag? Nope…
The price cap for WSBK is 44k Euro, so the R has to be under that. Would I have this for £48k or a Panigale V4R For 44k euro, the latter, by a million miles
Brakes, discs and forks don’t need homologating, they are a (price capped) free choice so the new V4R doesn’t need to have the V4 Tricolore trick front brake calipers and disks or (manual) Öhlins forks which of course will help Ducati stay within the budget cap. Andy
