  1. The little light might be an aftermarket charge indicator light. I have one on one of my supersports. Charging light.jpg

  2. I love rebuilds but for this id be pulling it down to its component parts and recoating literally everything from the ground up...still good to watch though...!

Ill eventually be on the look out for an old monster to do exactly that with!!

  4. Well, a small thing but i managed to replace the fuse-box lid!

Managed to find a standard fusebox on ebay where the lid is a perfect fit:- 123366665200 then ordered the decal :)

  6. Been busy painting parts too...

If i dont get a nice finish then i will re-do, or powder-coat where possible... but i prefer to 'give it a go' myself and see if i can make it nice.

  7. Polished the yokes to a nicer level, and ive removed the foam from the clocks, cleaned off the residue, and ordered new foam. I have ordered 5 new foams - they will arrive before Christmas, so if they are nice then i will sell the spares on this forum...

  10. My guess is an old deep fat fryer or perhaps a bath from an ultrasonic cleaner.

  11. Both very good guesses, but its a "gastronorm pan" - i got a few for free some years ago, they are ideal for the garage :)

  12. These guys were a pain to remove!

Glad to have them off the engine though, will replace them, fit new belts, change the oil/plugs, etc... and hope she starts and runs!

  14. While waiting for the instrument panel foam to arrive, ive decided to refit the clocks, headlight, etc...

Also needed to replace the crankcase breather pipe as that had perished.

    a.jpg

    b.jpg

Then took things a step further and refitted the front fairing (after lots of cleaning, new screws, etc... needs more cleaning though... any ideas how to remove light scratches from the screen?

  15. Replaced the fork seals, and refitted the forks and handlebars too...

Then, after replacing more perished hoses, etc, i refitted the carbs and airbox... Although the throttle seems to be catching so might need to remove everything and see whats getting stuck :-(

  16. Still, its coming along... lots to do, but making steady progress.

Waiting for the timing belt tensioners to arrive, for some more M6 bolts to arrive, for in-tank mesh filter and fuel filter to arrive, grips to arrive, for a 13mm straight coupling to arrive so i can repair a hose from the airbox to the box under the seat (and seem to buy new...), clock-foam to arrive, etc...

    Then need to order:-
    Battery
    Front pads
    Oil filter
    Engine Oil
    Spark Plugs

And, if im lucky, i might have stumbled across some exhausts... fingers crossed!

  17. I found a pair of Termgnoni's... £150!

The Micron exhausts that were fitted, the RHS carbon sleeve has failed... i think the bike has been lent against the exhaust and its pushed through... so i needed new silencers.

Ive loosely fitted the Termi's... It looks like i need new hangers for them... and im not sure if new hangers will allow me to keep the pillion pegs... So ive got some researching to do, and maybe some manufacturing... Either way, im really pleased to have found these, and will make them fit one way or another :)

  18. Is the pillion peg usable, exhaust seems a little high?

  19. Not with this bracket.

The exhaust is sitting lower than it should because of its weight... I think the SL bracket is what i need, but its a single-seat model...

So if i want to keep the pillion pegs, then i might have to manufacture my own hangers.
