Yeah I know it’s only a fiver or whatever. This is what I gave every three clicks on the forum. Every 2 clicks I get a full page ad to clear. Becoming unusable on a phone for sure
Completely agree. I've been a subscriber for the last few years but was in hospital for 4 months and didn't get round to it and now find the amount of ads excessively obtrusive

Kind of. Of you are on the phone it’s half screen ads too, then often bottom, then next click is full page ad.
nice empathetic response ♂️ the OP is surely saying the amount of Ads is excessive, not having adds, no one would mind a few adds but I didn’t have a sub for a few months and the site is completely unusable, so I just didn’t use it. the mods need to decide whether to balance the add amount for a decent balance or risk people just not bothering (which btw will then loose you your subscriber revenue anyway). in fairness though, people will probably get fed up of every single thread turning into a woke/government/politics thread after about 5 posts anyway!! Long gone are the interesting and varied technical threads
Leaving aside the forum content hiding behind layers of adverts, sorry to hear this Derek - best wishes for a full recovery and better health in 2025.
It’s not a great way to bring new people in and continue to grow a decreasing and less varied user base just to say ‘stump up’ because the user experience is just so poor it makes it not worth the bother unless you are already invested in the online relationship with the forum and members.
I have found the ‘solution to manf failures’ really interesting, loads of stuff I didn’t know and some I simply don’t understand. But that’s often he best stuff
Thanks for that Jon. I've lost 4 toes on my left foot, thankfully not the big toe. I'm hoping to be recovered enough to get back on the bikes, maybe by April or May.
The ads definitely are annoying but when looking around other forums this one had the best information and sense of community. Not a big deal to pay the subscription and I'm paying in NZD too
Change hosts or at least contact current host and say unless you’re able to tone the ads down a bit we’ll be seeking accommodation elsewhere?
