enjoying this thread, one of my favourites was Felinfoel's Double Dragon - it really took some beating. Not now available on draught having been replaced by Celtic Pride and even this is only available in Swansea but plenty of places elsewhere in bottled form, which has been the saviour of many a brewery these days. This is a picture of bottled Double Dragon apparently! other favourites were Courage Directors and Fuller's ESB although Gales HSB was just as delicious but not widely available back then. I didn't mind Young's Special, but took me a couple to adjust.
Can’t believe no one has posted a pic of the absolute best session ale… I was out last night playing carols in the pubs in one of the local villages, was a good night actually apart from one pub in the village that’s turned into a chavvy youth club
Batemans xb is my favourite and from my neck of the woods in Lincs...needs to be well kept though ,i've had some pints where its tasted shocking and i couldn't finish the glass!, usually from pubs where they don't know how to keep it, but get a good pint and it slides down a treat
Me and my school mates used to cycle round the Gower pubs drinking either Buckleys or Felinfoel (FeelingFoul) when we were too young to drive. Different times. Happy memories. I’m still in contact with 5 of them and we meet up for beer and (talking) bollocks at least once at year.
Only the weaker Otter (3% I think) is available at my local now But But still good though and I like it!
