was very good. The Triumph Trident 660 is about five grand cheaper than a Ducati Monster and I think looks better. I have never owned a Trumph.
I’ve had a Street Triple, Daytona 675, Bonneville T100 and Scrambler 1200XE. All great bikes with great engines - go try one!
Nah. The lines of the tank and seat unit don't harmonise and it looks kind of bland/basic, like an A2 bike. It's also not particularly light (189kg), which I know is important to you.
It can be an A2 bike as an option. I think that under 190Kg is OK, weight-wise. BUT I was in Fowlers yesterday and they are Triumph dealers, but I never looked very closely at the Triumph section, so there is an element of not knowing going on here. We will probably go back in January and I will have another look.
I am probably (only probably) cured of my obsession with twin front disks. The Scrambler Icon looks like my best option No mad hump at the back to try and get my leg over, lightweight at about 185 Kg wet. £10,195 2-valve, aircooled. Keeping things simple. And I don't have to wait for my compensation to ever come in order to afford it. Insurance will be no bother too. Depending upon timings, i will try to get the money out of my compensation, just to test the water on where I stand with access to the money. As this bike won't even touch the sides of my compensation agreed sum, it will be interesting to see what reaction I get.
I've configured one just for a giggle and got up to twelve grand without adding much. BUT BUT Unsure of top case. It would undoubtedly be useful, but makes the bike look shit! Well, shittier. Should I keep it? Opinions please.
The basic bike is just over ten grand standard and gets more expensive adding Ducati accessories. Most I would have but unsure of the top case as it seems to make the 3 bike look shit. I could probably bin a few others to get down to eleven thou. But, as I feel confident that I would be happy, then I might just go for the original list, with the exception of the topbox. I've never had one before so don't feel much desire for one now.
...and you'd pay almost £700 for that (shit-looking) top box & mount ....and mirrors are extras!!??!!
Perry its your money, but £203 for a pair of mirrors is theft. Stick on tank savers are normally a fiver. No idea what a "high number plate support" is, but I hope its silver plated for £300. Fuel caps that cost £250 should be illegal too. All these are no doubt plus another 20% VAT and maybe a fitting charge!
The "normal" rear number plate Wraps round to the back of the tyre and I think looks shite. I'm quite happy to pay Ducati prices for the other stuff. I may be able to get stuff cheaper but I've been on that journey before. Y'know where you buy stuff that doesn't fit and then you have the hassle of arguing with the supplier and the hassle of sending stuff back. I want to collect the bike as I specified with any problems with the bike, or accessories going straight back to the dealer. If i have the spondos, then I am not going to give myself hassle just to save a few bob.
Its your money, so if thats what you want, I'm sure Ducati will not mind taking it. Though if you wait a few months there will probably be an Ohlins / Foggy edition for £20K with special stickers!
