Ok Fight Fans - Best Ever Boxing Punch?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Andy Bee, Aug 22, 2022.

  1. I think the best non punch had to be the knockout one Tyson pulled in that farce of a YouTube video exhibition bout laughing called boxing.

  2. We're on the eve of Tyson vs Usyk II & I dunno about anyone else but I'm looking forward to it more that the first one.

Listening to the pundits on the radio they seem to think the only way Tyson can win is if he stops Usyk from dictating the pace. And to do that he needs to make use of a proper jab and when Usyk does get inside throw the uppercut & work the body. Most thought the result rests on how Tyson approaches the bout - I see he has had no family contact for his entire time training in Malta and to me he looks to be taking it seriously.

My ex-army boxer mate reckons the opening rounds will be explosive with both trying to dominate & dictate the terms. Tyson with his weight/power & Usyk with his speed & mobility.

And as for an 11 minute face off, with no blinking :astonished:, sheesh my present record is 17 & 1/2 secs against next door neighbour's cat.

  3. :joy:

  4. I shall try to make no predictions, just looking forward to it.

  5. I hope I can stay awake between the last fight on the undercard and the main fight. There’s going to be so much nonsense.
My money is on Usyk in any case purely because he’s in TF’s head so badly.
    He murders peoples cats too.

  6. That was a fantastic fight, although I thought the scoring was off. Usyk won, but not by four rounds and you could have even made a case for it being ruled a draw. What a boxer he is, and a great guy too. Moses Itauma was also very impressive in his first round, single digit punch destruction of McKean.

  7. I was watching it on DAZN and for some reason it had a live chat section taking up about a third of the screen. I couldn’t get rid of it and was kind of pissed off at first, but I’m glad I didn’t because when that big fat bloke won the raffle the piss-taking and memeing was absolutely epic

  8. It even sounded a great bout from the radio commentary and they did say, before the result was announced, it will depend on how the judges see the close rounds.

But as you say he is one hell of a boxer and patently better than Fury who, along with the rest, appear to have no way to deal with his speed, movement and resilience.
