Windscreen - Blackout Question

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Ducabike, Dec 22, 2024 at 8:40 PM.

  1. I want to make the front part of my windscreen blacked out so no light penetrates.
Is the best way to do this:
    1. with black paint on the inside
    or
    2. use of a black decal on the inside?

Your suggestions and experience is appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. I had a taller Puig screen painted on the inside of my MV to match the body line, it was in factory colour and I think it looked spot on. It also blacked out perfectly but it was just for aesthetics.

  3. Speaking on behalf of suffering from Mr Serious Accident, I would recommend care in doing the whole screen. Because of the seriousness of me and my bike's injuries, the police did a very thorough investigation of the road, the car I smashed up, and my bike. Nothing came up to harm my case. Not even the illegal exhaust that would probably help kill the argument by the driver that she didn't see me, as she would of heard me - had she not been on her phone, but that is another story,

I know that unless you have a really tall screen, you don't look through it, but over it, it will matter not to the other side if you are knocked off. They will use anything (and even make up stuff, to try and kill your case) to avoid blame, so be careful about providing them with anything to use against you.

  4. Use something that is reversible. One day you may want/ need to sell. So a cheapo replacement screen and do whatever, or get a sticker/ wrap which is probably easier & cheaper than paint.

  6. Have you considered the tinting film used for cars? I'm sure that exists in 100%...and is reversible. :upyeah:
