Collected this today, to join the V4 PP. Seems really clean, needs a bit of a recommission as not been ridden for a few years, fingers crossed all will be fine, seems really genuine. Belts etc on the way, but suppose Christmas will delay delivery a bit. Pictures not the best and shed's a mess, just moved house so a bit chaotic.
Put a Steering Damper upgrade on your Santa List. The standard one on my Biposto was about as much use as a licquorice stick.
What a Christmas present ! Some have been behaving better than others… PS: I’d personally loose that huge windscreen which makes it look like the alien queen…
The angle I took the picture at makes it look a bit weird I agree, in the flesh it looks ok, I'd rather it was clear though.
I bought an Ohlins for my new 1997 916 Biposto on the advice of a friend who got sick of me moaning about the standard one. He said "why ruin a10 grand bike for want of a 200 quid steering damper."
Looks like it could be like mine, a Ducati performance high screen (though mine is clear), pretty much the same shape as the original just a little higher - makes a big difference to the wind, buffeting your head at speed.
Started taking it apart. Looks like a mouse has had a bit of a go at some of the wiring rubber, not too much. Made me laugh to see this, the 2 names from the 80's and 90's most associated with reliability and quality.
Mice chewed most of the black plastic shell of a pair spare of indicators I had in a box some years ago. Plenty of cats around where I live now so I have not seen a mouse in 8 years.
Bastid mice, we get them in the house when the weather's cold. I've been round with cement, filling in all the possible entry points (old stone walls) but they still get in somehow. We had them in the kitchen. I got a bag of dog chews out of the cupboard, took out a chew which was only half there so I looked in the bag to see if the other half had dropped off and the mouse was still in there eating it. Better yet, one morning the Wife was in the kitchen when a mouse ran out from under the dog's bed. As it was first thing in the morning we reckon it had been under there all night and the dog either didn't know or didn't care? - dog's a Jack Russell, supposed to be good ratters/vermin killers, think he might be faulty. And they've chewed my snooker table, moved it out of the house a few years back, storing it in the garage standing up against the wall, the mice have chewed the cushions and the felt covering. My Sister had mice in her garage, they chewed the wiring loom in the engine bay of her car so it wouldn't run, expensive repair job. I hate the little feckers.
