They can not be tightened up in the traditional way, they kind of twist into the unit that holds the rear mudguard/number plate on. You could remove the unit and see if they have worked themselves loose and fit them correctly. i have bitten the bullet and ordered a rizoma set up along with a new set of indicators. Not much help I know, I was a little surprised when I saw how they were attached, or not, to the bike.
I took the rear unit apart and moved the majority of the indicator stem inside (idea taken from a port on another forum). Bit fiddly to do, but worth the effort as it looks neater and stops the "floppy" behavior of the long stalks.
The rubbers broke on mine, so I got rid of them and made a washer for the inside, so they're now clamped solidly. No more wiggling.
thanks guys took mine out and put some rubber o rings around the stem and re fitted. seemed to work so far.
I just took them out and wrapped a few layers of insulating tape around the surface of the indicator where it fits into the mudguard. Did the trick for me. Paul
I did exactly the same, black insulating tape tightly wrapped into the grove, no more wobble and over 4000 miles since.
Funny you should mention this. Wife was on the car yesterday and put her foot down, so showing off I blasted past her. She said 'they look crap'....I dunno, I can't see them. So apparently it is pretty bad?
Bloke on a hyper followed me 'at some pace' last week and said feck me, I thought you were going to lose all that plastic stuff and plate! seems if vibrates a little then...
On one of our Benson runs I was following Kirky, and on his Multi all the plastic stuff and plate began to vibrate more and more, until it looked as though he was going to lose it. The screws holding the tail piece had loosened and dropped out, and he really was about to lose it!
