  1. Looking for some luggage ideas..

I’ve always had Ventura racks on my bikes.. been thinking of the same for the 996..

Anybody have Ventura L brackets or something else they recommend

    for a mono subframe

    Thanks

  2. I've got Ventura setup on my 748e (bip) and also on my 1098 tric. Cannot fault it and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I bought two bags which zip together back to back which gives a huge carrying capacity and also the raincover to go over them both and everything stayed 100% dry when riding back from west coast of Ireland in a monsoon.
The bags lift on and off in seconds and are extremely secure, they also have carry handles and a pair of straps so they can be used as a rucksack. Not affiliated to Ventura in any way except as a highly satisfied customer and user.

  3. Yes that’s what I’m going for, I still have my bag, and the rear rack part what the bag goes over and sits on, I’m needing a pair of L- brackets for the 996..

I can’t seem to find any brackets for the mono subframe..

I’ve got till August to find some.. so have plenty of time

  4. Is there a specific L bracket for a mono subframe or it's the same as the standard one ?

  5. I bought SWMotech blaze panniers for my 1098 and also have Kreiga bags (20 and 2×10s)
I have then made my own brackets to fit the arm supports for the panniers so I can use them on my 748sps and MV along with the Kreiga luggage. I also have Kreiga tank bras for all three bikes.
I've also got ventura kit for the 1098 and MV but don't like it so it's not fitted at the mo

  6. Sure the mounting holes are different between them..

  7. I’ll have a look at those and see.. cheers

  8. I have a suspicion I may have some L mono brackets ( and only those bits) in the garage. I bought them for my 916 when I saw them for sale intending to build up the Ventura luggage option as and when I saw bits, and only after they arrived did I find they didn't fit, and on closer checking im prettty sure they were a 'mono' spec.

They are somewhere in my garage ill see if I can find them tomorrow.

  9. That would be great thanks for that

  10. I have a mono subframed 748s and I can confirm the mounting brackets are different. I picked mine up from eBay many years ago.

  12. Ive had a root around and found what I was looking for.

I recall more of the story now - as it was a few years ago. I bought my 916 from a magazine in 2009ish - Ride- and as one of their features they did a trip to Italy on it to prove that ‘you can tour on a 916’. They showed pics of it ‘on tour’ with Ventura luggage on the back.

When I bought it I found they had left the smallish mounting bracket attached to the sub frame. I saw some L brackets for sale and bought them, thinking I’d build up my own luggage set from bits as and when I saw them for sale.

When I got the L brackets I couldnt make them fit, so I then did some proper research ( arse about face, I know) and I recall that I found out they were for a Mono subframe, mine is a BP. I can’t recall exactly where I found that info though, maybe the Ventura website?

Anyway., pics are below of what ive got- there are two numbers etched into the metal - D006 and 40N. Not sure if they will mean anything to you, or help you work out if they’ll help you or not.

    Over to you……..

  13. @TT600 and @fauldsy - those are mono subframe Ventura brackets.
You will need to acquire or make the small central bracket which mounts under the rear of the seat unit. It is a bit of a faff to fit, but once fitted it stays there out of sight until you need to put the side brackets on - 5 minute job.
The pack rack you need for the mono is different from the biposto as it sits higher. One is a pf16 and the other is a pf14. Sorry I can't be arsed to look in the garage at this time of night to tell you which one you will need.
But I could be arsed to look at a previous post on here this afternoon -
