Hamilton Spoiler!

  1. I didn't know he owns part of the Denver Broncos, he's a very astute lad, nothing would surprise me next year tbh.

  2. Hamilton’s had a wretched season… out pointed by his teammate and very average qualifying. The Mercedes isn’t exactly a shitter either.

    Coming off plateau?

  3. I don’t follow or watch F1 but I did catch a few laps of highlights on c4 yesterday evening.
I never knew Mick Doohan’s son was an F1 driver. When did that happen and what is his likely chance of proper success?

  4. It was his first F1 race start yesterday.
Chances of winning a world title? Unlikely in an Alpine next year but we all know how racing works...prove yourself in a shit car/bike and chances will come your way to move up the ladder.
Apparently Schumacher gave him his first kart.:upyeah:

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  5. Jack Doohan has been racing in F2 and got the chance this weekend to drive for Alpine, I don’t know what happened to Ocon who Doohan replaced.

  6. Ocon was ill I believe.

  7. Hahahahaha

No such thing as a free lunch in F1.

Alpine decided they would only release Ocon to Haas in time for Abu Dhabi's winter test on the condition that Ocon gave his race spot to his replacement Jack Doohan. Ocon walked.

  8. When asked if he could have won this years WDC in another car...

The Belgian Grand Prix has secured a new contract that will keep it on the Formula 1 calendar for four out of six years from 2026-2031.

It is the first deal of this type signed by F1, which is seeking to find ways of accommodating new events in an already crowded calendar.

The contract dictates that the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit will host races in 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2031.

However, in 2028 and 2030 Belgium will be replaced by another race.

The details of which other venues will rotate with Spa are yet to be confirmed.

Barcelona, in Spain, and Imola, in Italy, both want to keep their races, even though they are out of contract after this year.

  10. I think the Spanish GP goes from Barcelona to Madrid in 2026.

At first glance it seems Liberty want to free a few spots on the calendar to get some other venues involved who potentially will pay more than the going rate once they've had a taste. It does also allow the tracks that currently are under contract to experience a year without a GP. Presumably Liberty think this will be another lever to increase fees...

As a plus, for us on our sofas, seeing some different tracks might be good.

  11. Not bothered about spain tbh, Spa is F1 (to me at least) though. Two missed years likely to be in Trumpyland instead. Shite.

  12. Yes, I know what you mean, Spa is arguably the best race of the year. It was Kimi's favorite track and he held the lap record for a longtime (along with 46 others).

  13. That must a hell of a long lap from Barca to Madrid, your pit stops are gonna need to be spot on.

  14. Silverstone, Spa and Japan are F1 to me. Monaco can be binned off for me, utter shite.

  15. I quite like Canada & Monza too, though most have something good about them. But like you I have no interest in the Monaco farce.
