Lots of dealers were multi franchise in the past. And today, dealers in usd cars and bikes sell different brands and seem to do OK. Many are single site one man bands or family run businesses that keep it small and manageable. Just like bike shops used to be, you would go in for a new pair of gloves and come out hocked up to the eyeballs for a bike that took your fancy.
Looks like there trying to reopen as js super bikes, I wouldnt want to be there when people start realising that there open again.
I don't mind admitting that i'm totally baffled by the sudden rise and interest in cheap s/h motorcycles and their customer base at the moment. Got talking to a "new trade" shop manager in the middle of this summer who is selling solely new Chinese motorbikes i'd never heard of, mainly 125cc. 4 months later and the place is now totally rammed with 50 plus bikes in the equivalent of two lock-ups, so much so that all the (i'm guessing) trade-ins are now left outside chained up.
How odd, I went past the gate there yesterday, all locked up, shutters down, no sign of life or activity Compared to the Hinckley site, the warehouse at Mountsorrel is tiny
Insolvent to the tune of nearly £12 million. Looks like they had not paid their VAT and PAYE for a while as they owed HMRC over £600,000. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07177616/filing-history
Worst part of that is that employees potentially then get chased for the tax that wasn’t paid by the business on their behalf. I knew a few who worked at a co a few years ago who got caught with this and had to pay almost a whole year of tax. No redundancy then big bill. Double whammy
That's not true. If they paid it they were scammed. The liability is the responsibilty of the Company alone. The Group of Companies is insolvent to the tune of £18 million.
Remember i said Blade were struggling, they have just announced they are closing Blade Swindon stores down.
They often referenced their “buddies at Barnstormer Maidenhead” in their videos. Whether that was a commercial tie up, I have no idea but certainly could explain their predilection to BMWs. Andy
Btw they can in certain situations still it seems https://www.litrg.org.uk/working/em... employer fails to,lose out on state benefits.
Chris Eades is mates with Alastair who owns Bahnstormer, the 44t office is behind Alton BMW and Chris was also a business partner in MotoLine for a while as they use that to sell off most of the BMW Trade-ins. I’ve been on a few Euro events with them all and they are pretty good mates tbh
