Latest series of Silent Witness. Stopped watch a series or two ago, become beyond ridiculous, so thought we’d give it another go. It’s not changed
that's a shame, I enjoyed the Amanda Burton ones and even the switch over early ones were worth watching, (Was it Amelia Fox?) but did notice it tailed off a bit as people leave et cetera.
Used to be must watch for us. Anyone tried the Aussie Death in Paradise? It’s terrible. Beyond terrible: its franchise destroying
I watched Longlegs on Saturday, starring Nicholas Cage. Was quite good, which is unusual for him! Also saw Get Away, starring Nick Frost, which was right up my street. A bit like Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz, but set on a Swedish island.
They are both very odd. Can’t decide if I’d recommend them or not….the first one was a million miles away from as good as SotD which clearly gave him the idea of sorts
I think I read somewhere that one of the writers was involved with The Reverent, which would add up. Can't usually tolerate westerns, however much like contemporary war films, they've got more gnarly and realistic. Unlike the early Hollywood sanitised cowboys - good, Injuns- bad flicker shows.
Elizabeth I with Glenda Jackson on the BBC iPlayer. What little money was spent, went on costumes rather than sets and it's all very thespian - but no worse off because of it.
Having read a glowing review in the guardian I thought I’d give this Scandi-noir thriller a go. The Breakthrough: this tense true-crime thriller is the best Scandi noir in years The highly emotional new crime drama about the horrific murder case in Sweden that went unsolved for 16 years is a cracking and courageous watch. No wonder it’s raced up the Netflix charts … Bloody slow start, will persevere
Getting my wife to watch the alien quadrilogy as she's never seen them, And I love them. Even resurection.. I do refuse the existence of the other alien movies though
