Dirty deed complete, just delivered today. Really looking forward to getting some miles in on this. Fun after first service and getting some decent tyres fitted.
A friend test rode one the end of last year and said it was a hooligan machine. He's seriously considering one. He's just sold his versys 1000 and also has another bike to sell to help fund a new purchase
Very nice. They look more manageable than previous versions of the GS. What tyres are you going to have fitted ? - out of interest.
Be a while before I get out with all the road salt, but they do feel very small compared to previous versions. The weight is reduced, but moving it around in the garage it feels lighter than the claimed reduction…if that makes sense? In GS (not GSA) form it now feels like one of the smallest ADV style bikes. Gone for no panniers, no racks, no radar, manual screen, all to keep weight down. Tbh, the electric screen thing I dont get, this one has a lever, up/down takes a second. Quicker than going in to the menu and pressing a button. Gone for cast wheels too. Lighter than the spoked and much easier to clean, the spoked black rims on my 1250 were a nightmare.
