I'm just loving it, going down the coast today for two days so looking forward to the full impact from the sea.
Yesterday but went out for the wife’s birthday, I can’t remember the last time I went out for a meal but £18 for a burger it probably won’t happen again for a while either.
Belated happy birthday to your wife, sadly the cost of eating out has risen sharply in recent months across the whole range of food and drink outlets. I recently got charged £14 for a bacon roll and a cup of coffee in a local “community run” cafe. Disgraceful Andy
Stop paying it then. Im no tight arse by any means but I refuse to use my local fish and chip shop for the exact same reason and cant wait for the greedy twats to go out of business tbqhwy. £4 for chips and £12 for a few cubes of meet, a handful of salad and a pitta bread. £15 for a skinny bit of cod and chips. Absolute piss take, that's restaurant prices and they can blame the rent/price of cooking oil as much as they like but you wont see me paying for it.. (same as £1.50 for a litre of diesel when the place down the road is 10p cheaper)
I agree, I’m not tight either but when I feel like I’m getting ripped off I take the arse. We have also boycotted our local chippy because of rip off pricing and use one further out now. Problem in our town is they are so used to having all the festival goers trousers down that they think the locals will pay it too.
I just paid £5 for a bacon bap and a can of coke at Farnborough station. Did a double take, as I thought I’d been undercharged!
