Multi Bike Policy

Discussion in 'Insurance - Sponsored by Ducati Insurance' started by ymfb, Jan 28, 2025.

  1. I’ve been insured by Ducati (Ramasis) for some years. My policy is for three bikes, business use and commuting.

They have told me today they can no longer provide business cover due to the value of my 2021 V4S. Remember this is DUCATI insurance.

Luckily I have time to shop around, but has anyone got any recommendations?

    TIA

  2. lol ducati insurance can’t insure typical Ducati costed bike….

if you find a good multi bike post up who, I’d love to go back to that rather than 2 or 3. I’d also love a multi car…

  3. Bikesure do business cover on multi bike policies.

  4. Alternatively be realistic about what a 2021 V4S is worth.

  5. Yes they offered it to me today, told them I’d stick with individual policies.

  6. I just renewed with BikeSure on a multi-policy and it was cheaper than last year, been with them for around 6 years.

  7. I just added my gixer thou to my existing Bikesure policy (which was cheaper than last year like Chris) for £90 for the year. 2000 mpa.

  8. Just on my bike sure policy page now and it’s useless, can’t turn off auto renewal which really annoys me and I cannot see a link to send proof of no claims to despite the faq bit saying it’s really easy! I already know I won’t be using them next year and my policy doesn’t start till Saturday. Over complicated compared to all the other companies I use.

  9. My 2 are insured by BeMoto

  10. I didn’t tell them what it was worth.

Do you tell them what you might expect to pay to replace it or what you might be able to sell it for.

  11. Yes or they might charge you for a policy based on a new price but only ever pay out at market value.

  12. Bennetts are worth a try.

  13. I have 2 different multi bike policies, bike sure & Hastings direct - the latter was just a standalone for my Ktm 2 smoke 6 days but completely blew bike sure out of the water for the V4S with same comp cover, just remember that a under 15k valuation will make a big difference in premiums & going above 20k increases premium dramatically, also as a side note - they did not require tracker subscription for me under 15k (subject to postcode etc). I am aware that I’m in my later summer/early autumn years which is one of the very few advantages of being an old fart.

  14. Don’t even think of asking them a straightforward question, about the details of your cover, NO chance!

  15. After trying both the phone and internet I have eventually switched to Bikesure.

Wicked Quotes (Ducati) advised they can’t offer what I actually want.
Alliance (IAM) quoted a very high premium
Hastings, didn’t answer the phone and their online portal didn’t let me include all the details
Go Compare offered Hastings & Bikesure, but didn’t let me include all the details
The broker we use for work, travel & car doesn’t do multi bike policies

I realise I’m not entirely straightforward case, with diabetes and a car park shunt in July 2023, plus multiple bikes.

I spent 4 hours on this thankless task.

  16. My pani needs cover, and I’m hoping to acquire a third bike in the summer, so may get a quote from bikesure on a multi policy basis so I can add the 3rd bike later. Thx fellas. Really useful

  17. If you don’t have medical conditions and only need social domestic and pleasure use without commuting you should have more options.

  18. My Bemoto renewal quote is up 25%. Time to look elsewhere.

  19. Give them a ring I always get a reduction on the renewal price

  20. I had exactly the same issue with Ramasis: its an absolute joke that "Ducati Insurance" can't even insure a V2.
