St3 Battery

  1. I ordered a cheapo battery for my ST3 and fitted it at least two years ago, in which time it has covered ZERO miles and has always been on a conditioner. It has been giving weird readings on the conditioner and at first, I thought that the conditioner was dodgy. I have three bikes and three GENIUS conditioners, so I swapped and it was the battery. So, I ordered a good one (YUASA) from Halfords but they never sent it or delivered it. I rang them up today and cancelled the order and that serves me right from ordering from such a shithole.

So recommendations, please. Good quality mail order battery for a ST3. This bike, I wanna get back on the road. It is old, but hasn't even done ten thousand miles, I think.

  4. Tayna batteries, choose the one you want and delivered the next day, never had a problem with them ever.

  5. Tried to order Yuasa from Amazon but they went all coy on exactly what bike it fits, so sacked that idea. Then went to Yuasa and they specify the right battery using your registration number, but they are about £20 over the odds, without delivery!

Gave it a "FFS! How complicated does it have to be!" and went for a different make. I wanted to use Amazon as I am a Prime customer, so don't pay delivery and can get a refund on any shit delivered.

I went for this on Amazon as it is a reasonable make, in stock (the last one!) and I don't pay for delivery.

It shouldn't be this hard to get a fooking battery!

  6. I onl
I only ordered the fooker a few hours ago and already I have an email to say it has been despatched!

I hate Amazon, but you cannot argue with the service. It isn't coming from Amazon, but one of their third party suppliers, but looking good!

  7. I use MDS Battery of Enfield. Comprehensive stock, rapid service.

  8. Tayna are an excellent company for bike batteries. Specifically I’d recommend the Varta AGM

  9. Arrived already!

On my way to the public house and it's in my Summerhouse!

Looks right, but I will unpack properly tomorrow or Monday.

Already have been tipped to try white wine while eating After-Eights. Might do that at home sometime.

  10. A summerhouse, new battery, trip to the pub, white wine and After Eight mints, can it get any better!

  13. I've used Tayna before and would recommend - one advantage is the details of the battery capacity (and dimensions and which way the +ve and -ve posts are arranged) - because I like to know the CCA value so I can predict if the battery has the oomph to turn-over a cold motor.

  14. I haven't fitted the battery as I don't want to do anyfing just before going away for a few days. Unpacked it and offered it up to the bike and looks right. I stuck it on one of my Genius battery conditioners and it went straight up to 100% charged, so all seems well. I fooking hate Amazon, but you cannot fault this. Ordered battery through Amazon, but it is really some third party outfit, who guess delivery next Wednesday, instead I get it next day and it seems right. This kind of service, at a better price than most offer, cannot really be agued with!

Never really considered Amazon to be the "go to" place for motorbike stuff, but this is a first class service, whereas Halfords were ShitsVille UK who couldn't be even be bothered to even put the battery in the post, let alone actually deliver it!
