Just watched 'Kate' on netflix, Woody Harrelson is in it, bloodthirsty, brutal, set in Japan shoot 'em up, great film, thoroughly enjoyed it, highly recommended
yes, I saw – I haven't watched one but general consensus says that they should've just stuck to the motherland routine.
September 5. Film about the hostage taking at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games and ABC’s live coverage of it. Very good, really held the attention and was very tense. The only downside was that whoever was in charge of the credits needs a severe slapping.
Paradise AppleTV. Close Protection agent to the ex president (they get to keep their protection detail after they’ve left office) comes in on his morning shift to find him dead on his bedroom floor. Can’t say much more than that without giving away spoilers to the whole storyline but four episodes in and still gripping
This is becoming a real PITA with these new TV companies. We already have Prime, largely for Amazon deliveries. Paradise looks good, that’s on Disney+; Slow Horses is supposed to be good, that I believe is on Apple+; and Landman and Yellowstone look good, they are on Paramount+; so another £27 per month in subscriptions to watch 4 series.
I stand corrected, it is Disney. On that subject, when it started it was £69 a year all singing and dancing but like many others they have now split it into 3 flavours and so I’ve just had an email to tell me the premium option (the only one with 4K and Dolby Atmos is going up to £129! I’ve downgraded to the semi skimmed version so have no adverts but lose 4K and D Atmos. Once I get used to the poultry 1080p I might downgrade further and have to accept the advertising (tbf Amazon Primes adverts aren’t too obtrusive……yet?)
I do agree, I’ve also got Prime anyway for the delivery/music etc, AppleTV I get through Barclays Blue Rewards which costs me a fiver a month and Paramount I got for £36 for the year, it was an offer last year then when I went to cancel this year they offered it to me again.
I took advantage of an offer giving the lowest Disney+ tarriff, normally £4.99pm at £1.99 for three months. We watched a film last weekend and had to sit through a 1 minute advert before the film started, but that was all. If it's as unobtrusive as that, I may go for a year's subs up front once the offer expires. [EDIT] There's no annual subscription for the with-ads plan.
We bought tickets for Peter Kay but couldn’t gain possession of them due to a very unfortunate circumstance. I’m not really a fan of his so only a monetary loss for me but the Mrs was a little saddened by it as she thinks he’s hilarious, I just think he’s a bit funny. I’ll show her the clip to see if she would still like to watch him live as he behaves now and not based on his past performances.
i've always thought he was funny, but the clip I watched just wasn't acceptable. He says that "they" heckled him through the first part of the show also, and if true they ought to show evidence of this as well just to state both sides of the story.
Becoming Led Zeppelin at the local picture house. Biopic on the band, starting from their school days, through their respective music careers as individuals before joining up and going through to the making of Led Zeppelin II and the Albert Hall concert. Lots of interviews with the band and a lot of trivia that I didn't know about. As someone who likes some of their stuff but is not a die hard fan I found it really interesting and thoroughly enjoyed it; die hard fans might already be familiar with a lot of it so may not find it quite so interesting.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clynlkkxpdzo Peter Kay has said he had "no choice" but to ask security to eject two hecklers at his show on Saturday because their "repeated disruptions" made it "impossible to continue". The comedian asked staff at Manchester's AO Arena to remove a man who shouted "Garlic bread", his Phoenix Nights catchphrase, before telling them to throw out a woman who kept calling his name. The man told the Daily Mail, external he was "treated like a terrorist", while the woman, who Kay called Lisa Riley because of her resemblance to the actress, told the Manchester Evening News, external she was "annoyed and upset". Kay said they had been "disrupting from the very start" and he "did my best to address the situation and made light of it, as any comedian would, but unfortunately, their interruptions continued". He explained: "I then tried to ignore them, hoping they'd settle down, but when the disruption persisted into the second half of the show, I asked the audience around them if they were being bothered by the noise. They all shouted 'yes,' and when I asked for a show of hands, at least 40 people raised theirs. "At that point, I had no choice but to take action. "The lady who was escorted out did bear a striking resemblance to Lisa Riley, though I don't see how that's an insult." He said he had only kicked out one other person in the previous 114 shows of his three-year tour. "As a comedian, you never want to eject anyone, but when repeated disruptions make it impossible to continue, it's important to consider the experience of the rest of the audience, who've paid to see a show without interruption," he said. I haven't seen the clip, but as someone who had the misfortune to sit next to 4 weapons grade pricks at one of his O2 gigs and who got moved as a consequence, I'm inclined to side with Peter Kay if the report above is accurate. I'm not sure when it apparently became acceptable to continuously chat through shows and concerts but if this makes some of those morons think twice about their behaviour then I'm with him.
