I finally got to the bottom of the Oz Gass wheel requirement of needing a specific rear sprocket. However, upon looking at the specified sprockets, they are only available for 520 chains. Question, does it make any sodding difference at all what sprocket sits opposite the wheel? I can't see that it warrants replacing the whole drive chain just for some fancy wheels. When I asked Omniracing (who I ordered the wheels through) for the sprocket product code, this is what they sent: The code is 1031 pbr 1031 the 520 - https://www.omniaracing.net/advanced_search.php?keywords=pbr+1031&sort=3a When looking at their site, none of the mentioned sprockets are suitable for my MTS 1260, so again, is this actually necessary? I've never fit Oz wheels and only had forged wheels on my sports bikes back when my balls were higher than my knees. And none of those had specific sprocket requirements (to my knowledge...).
You have lost me here, the 1260 is a single sided swing arm, why should you need to worry about the size of the rear sprocket ? Andy
Exactly why I'm confused. On the Oz wheels advert (again on omni racing) it states it's necessary to use said specific sprocket. But I can't discern if this is marketing fluff or valid. I'm going to assume the former. I just wanted to ask as if it was the latter, I'd rather save my self from a mistake. But again, logically to me it makes no difference what sprocket has been fitted.
Please forgive my bluntness, 4 days in to a horrible virus and I’ve had enough but quite frankly, you are being given an absolute load of bollocks. The OZ web site, https://www.ozmotorbike.com/en/wheels, shows a mono arm rear wheel, no sprockets required. Andy
